Sure your the lucky one. Beyond the paperwork involved with the classes and driving lessons then your pretty much holding the bag.. how do I know I have two of my boys who just finished drivers training.. one passed and one hasnt passed yet. And talk about hair pulling.. in todays traffic on the roads its crazy so I know how you feel "father" because Im going thru the exact same thing. Whats worse is I dont even like being in a car unless I am driving.. Im one of those types.. will never fly in an airplane either...

What's the Izzy ??.... NO problemo I've introduced 3 kids to the steering wheel the fourth is on his way. Try teaching a 5 Speed with a CLUTCH!! Get in a big parking lot, buy some cheap cones and go to work. Introduce them to the car and its movements. TRY SITTING ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR to guide their parallel parking and regular parking . In Massachusetts you have to take private driving lessons for about $750. per kid!! my advice is to LET THE PROS DO THE TEACHING.... you'll have FEWER heart attacks Pajamas

The $750. is nothing...... BUYING THEM EACH A NICE DEPENDABLE CAR and helping to insure it is the killer!! I just last Wednesday purchased a NICE Hundi, Elantra GT.... FULLY LOADED, for my second kid.... this is her SECOND CAR. She TOTALED her new GMC, Canyon truck on a Phone pole (SMART KID though she had the "GAP" insurance... the total amount of the truck was PAID OFF by GMC)!!! A deer ran in front of her and she swerved... the phone pole was only about a foot away from the edge of the road!! She was O.K.,.... you learn as a parent THAT to come out of an accident O.K. IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!.... You'll need ALL YOU CAN GET raising children Pajamas

Well I was the lucky one I guess. My grandfather gave me a car. It's a '92 Pontiac Bonneville. He's a retired mechanic and he put a brand new transmission and suspension in it so it will last me a while. My mom was the lucky one who got to teach me how to drive at first. The funny thing is, she never taught someone how to drive before. After a lot of freaking out when I didn't brake as hard as she was comfortable with (only issue thankfully), my dad took over on teaching me. The ironic thing is, my dad is the one who taught my mom how to drive (LOL!!!). He's also taught like 3 other ppl how to drive too. He is so much calmer than my mom was. Instead of screaming "BRAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!!" in my ear, he's just like "you might wanna hit the brake a little harder.

As for my insurance, when I get my license it's going to cost me $750 a year JUST FOR LIABILITY INSURANCE!!! If I add collision to that, it will double.

Best of luck to you two! I remember passing my test a few years back I was thrilled. Atleast your roads in America are bigger than ours. The city where I live has some of the worst roads in Britain but at the same time the highest council tax...funny how that works out eh?

I can say welcome to the club of having driving age kids. It does kinds scare you when they take control of your vehicle and you know that if something happens its your problem as you are the responsible one.
Makes you feel really good though when the things you have taught them helps them out and they get their license. Hope your daughter had no problem getting hers. LOL will not be too long till my son and daughter has the same challenge there as all of us with kids have. I cant wait to see how they handle it.
