The differences between AMD and Nvidia NOW a days are so minimal that it's best to just do what you prefer. I know that Nvidia cards Underclock themselves a bit when left stable (Then again so do intel chips but eh) and then bring themselves back up. I HAVE however seen how a 590 renders a game and how a 6990 renders a game. It's hard to describe the very OBVIOUS difference between the two you just have to kind of... watch it on screen and on the same game in the same area and see it for yourself. I prefer AMD>Nvidia but hey.

Yeah you're right about that. I'm an AMD fan myself, but they're going to have to step up their tessellation game if they want to REALLY blow NVIDIA out of the water. BF3 has a LOT of tessellation (according to Patrick Liu from DICE) so NVIDIA cards will probably perform a bit better for the time being.

NVIDIA didn't make this. ASUS took two GTX 580 chips and put them on one PCB.

It's true AMD is gonna have to do that or Nvidia will win the fight. :)

Is it truly a fight? I mean yes Nvidia renders the pixels smoother but AMD paints them prettier, a perfect example is Borderlands Nvidia runs it smooth as does AMD but AMD makes it more... pretty? Another example is MW2. Up until the recent graphic update only AMD cards got a "Fluid warp" on their throwing knives (Throw a knife in game now to see what I mean) So, if Nvidia see's more pixels, but AMD makes the pixels it's see's prettier, I don't really SEE an issue, after all you can always CHEAT like Crysis 2 did by having about 8000 pixels in a slab of concrete?

Really? I never knew that. Then again, I never played MW2 with an NVIDIA card :icon_razz:

Yeah my buddy (TheObedient in BC2 Freshershist everywhere else) has an AMD 5700 series, and I have an Nvidia 9000 series, And a buddy of ours has an Nvidia 2XX series, Obedient comes over on weekends to lan his PC here I noticed the warp on his tubes and knives and was like....hey I don't have that! (Neither did our buddy) and he was like "I guess that's what happens when you have an HD card" I was like hmm guess you're right, then the update came and they gave it to nvidia users and he was like "Ahaha they had to change stuff for you to get the same as I all ready haaad " =P

    Re: redonkulous

Lets not turn this into a Borderlands thread now. Even though I played that game nonstop for 3 months and became an official strategy guide to it =P To the point where I own quite a collection of Pearlescents XD But yeah When it comes to AMD vs Nvidia, I've seen that Nvidia cards last a bit longer as far as their "Game effective coverage" while amd uses what they can run better. Then again it doesn't help when Nvidia is partnered with companies and tells them ADD MOAR PIXELS SO ONLY NVIDIA CAN DO ET RAWWWRRR. Limey bastards (For proof see Crysis 2)

The game of the year edition comes with ALL the DLC (4 in total) and is like 19.99-29.99 on steam, I've even seen it go on sale for 7.50 :icon_eek:

Yeah it was $7.50 the other day. Trust me, if you play it brownman, get the Game of the Year Edition. It's worth it. When it was first released it was $50 EVERYWHERE. Guess what? Steam had it on sale for $25 and I snagged it.

Have fun playing BF3 when it releases, then just buy borderlands during Christmas time on steam when everything is madly onsale. I bought my copy for $7.50 and it was the GOTY edition which includes all of the DLCs.. Actually, they had it onsale twice this summer

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.
