    the best way to do a virus scan is
    1st turn off system restore and delete all of them
    2nd boot into safe mode
    3rd run antivirus scan
    4rd get a bootup antivirus scanner and scan as well the more scanners the better when your in safe mode

    you need to be careful about that more than 1 antivirus can cause them to go haywire. be carefull with that stuff

    No, that's a good idea. See, if the system restore backs up WHILE the virus is on your computer, and you activate the system restore, it will restore your computer back and the virus will STILL be there.

    If there is no virus you gonna delete them for no reason and etc. :)

    no thats not it at all, system restore takes snapshots of your OS so therefore if you have a virus it is copied into System restore so when you delete it from your MAIN OS it then recreates itself from system restore. also you can run most antivirus without installing them. i have about 4-5 i can run without ever installing them.

    That's exactly what I meant...it was 3 am when I wrote this I was exhausted lol. I worded it wrong. :icon_nervous:

    if you think you have a virus, i'd start with #4, use a boot scanner immediately! Most of them are free!
