2nd you bought an i7 and got a motherboard that only has dual channel memory why not get one that goes tri-channel
3rd if you buy intel go with nvidia graphics card because intel side chips use nvidia technology.
you will get better performance with an amd.
1. Intel is faster. Its a fact. It might not be $$$/performace but its faster. I find that AMD is for cheaper builds. If you hit the crossline such as AMD 6 core and core i5(non-sandybridge), the price is about the same.. But it really depends on what you're doing.. but amd would win in that scenario because it has 6 cores even though games on the market only currently support a max of 4 threads. Not to mention if you get an I7, it has Hyperthreading.
2. There isn't too much difference between triple and dual chanel. Besides, I dont think they sell triple channel w/Sandybridge..
3. You are absolutely right. Intel goes with Nvidia. But bobzwik wants AMD GPU because you can crossfire different GPUs together.. ex. a 6950 and 6870.
*edit* I forgot to add: Bobzwik does video editing in premiere pro. Nvidia Cuda would aid him, but you would still need a fast Intel processor to accommodate Premiere Pro. AMD just won't cut it.
intel is a little faster but not much unless you get the 980X then well its just sweet but you pay for it. AMD builds are cheaper by far and amd's 6 core's outperform the i5's but not the i7's.
there is a difference between dual and tri-channel memmory thats why the i7's are so powerfull because of triple channel memory controllers.
and if you do alot of video editing go with professional cards not gaming cards. go with quadro's or firegl. amd i have a 955 and i can do anything in adobe master collection cs5 so the whole AMD won't cut it is false. and you can even go to saying if your doing more business processing go with either xenons or opterons.
Yes.. I did mention AMD 6-cores are better then i5s for the same price.. But like i said, its not $$$/performance.. That's more/less down AMD's alley.. Intel is more like $$$ for better performance.
Quadros are way too expensive for cards that have more RAM..all Nvidia does is add accelerating drivers..
Bobzwik uses premiere pro but I dont think that he uses 50+ layers at a time...
I apologize for making the statement about the "AMD can't cut it" When I typed that, I was referring to a commercial stand point which has nothing to do with this topic.
Xenon? Isn't that a gas on the periodic table of elements? Or did you mean Xeon? (lol..just teasing..)
I think all he needs is a gaming computer that can run premiere pro.. nothing for commercial use..
Bobzwik, You can get triple channel, but it won't be sandybridge. It will probably be westmere..
The models with "k" means that they're built for overclocking as the ones without K suck for OC'ing.
