    Well this may explain the problems....perhaps?

    For some reason just for the hell of it, I went to check on system requirements for BC2, yes BC2 after ive had it for a while, and I read the minimum req. for the game and then the recommended req. for the game. I think the key for me is the processor, min. is a dual core, recommended is the quad core, I have a dual core 2.3, now could this be why the game is jerky for me and not smooth? I have a decent vid card, 9800Gt, 512mb, 4 gig of ram.

    Probably. BC2 gets my quad-core running anywhere from 50% -75% capacity when I'm playing.

    So could this be why when I play it gets jerky a lot, maybe dual core isnt fast enough and vid card combined or more the processor?

    Quad core will definitely help your situation. I mean it's possible that you have another problem, but as far as dual cores go, yours isn't even that fast.

    I don't think your problem is the dual cores. :)

    it could be but more than likely his hdds could be cluttered up badly or his gpu getting weak or any number of problems. anything could be wrong and when a system is weak in 1 area the rest have to compensate and can burn out faster i.e. cpu being weak and forcing gpu to render more or vice versa. heat could be a major killer here.the list can go on and on tell you truly break it down and test everything and clean up everything.

    he's got a decent GPU that should be getting better framerates than that..looking at his CPU, it's an older slower dual-core, and BC2 DOES recommend quad-core for best performance..I really think his CPU's the issue here. I mean, I have a quad core @ 3.7GHz and it STILL goes around 50%-75% usage while playing.

    Ok heres the specs...

    Athlon 64 X2 (B) 5000+ 2.6 GHz (65W)
    2000 MT/s (mega transfers/second)
    Socket AM2
    Chipset---> GeForce 6150SE nForce 4

    Added video card is----->GeForce 9800 GT- 512MB DDR3, PCI Express 2.0

    There is no way that this HP will be able to run BC3 if it runs BC2 jerky...not much more I can do to upgrade this system.

    it could be. but it could be like i said hdd's too how big are they, or what is the make and model so we can look it up, how often to clean it up. the reason i ask is everything is ran of hdd so if its cluttered or to full it can read/write properly so it can cause jerking.

    Well I clean out the computer at least every 2 weeks, I use "System Mechanic"
    and "Mcafee Clean Sweep" programs, all of my important info is on a external hard drive, I make sure there is no system clutter, I run "Spybot Search and Destroy", "Malwarebytes" and "Avast Virus Home Edition" once a week.

    hard drive info

    400 GB SATA 3G (3.0 Gb/sec)
    7200 rpm

    Not sure of the brand though.

    ouch...yeah...that Athlon X2 is your problem there. You're gonna need (if you stay AMD) a Phenom II x4 or something close to it.

    Found a benchmark that shows how the 9800GT performs on max settings @ 1920 x 1200 with BC2. And the average framerate was ~21 fps. Then again, that is MAX settings, I'm sure if it was turned down to say 1280 x 720 and put at mid settings it would get around 45-50 fps.

    That CPU with that GPU could definitely be the problem. Don't listen to these newbs.

    Now I didn't see you mention your FPS, but jerking screens and all of that.. CPU/GPU. What settings are you using? Low?

    It's better to build a new rig then upgrading.

    He's right.

    And one more thing. I think its your proccessor and ram thats your bottleneck. Prob graphics card too if you're running it on max. Also, the Nforce 4 chipset an't be running too greatly with newer stuff.

    Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.
