The Caviar Green's I had earlier actually dropped to $39.99, but they're only 3.0gb/s, and I might as well just go with a PC this time and make a hackintosh far into the future. Gonna rework my list now.

Also, are the non (K) sandy bridge processors just as overclockable, but not as quickly/easily overclockable?

This is getting really good, but maybe it's possible to improve it a little further.

Stay away from Seasonic, if you want something that isn't going to die after a few months get either a Corsair or PC power and cooling. i have replaced about 10 seasonic PSU in computers they are pure junk.

Good you decided the 550 Ti, its over twice as good as the 9800, you will definitely get more then 2X FPS.

As for the HDD, WD is the way to go, The 1 TB Black Edition is a nice addition.

If you build a rig with the DD 450W Lan tower Case, make sure you take some Pics, because Im really tempted to build one.

Brownman, its not that easy, You CANNOT use an i7 940 in a mini ITX build. You would need a i7 sandybridge Plus a different mobo. And also, the i5 he choose uses socket 1156, the i7 940 is not compatible. It uses socket 1366.
They DO NOT build X58 compatible mobos in ITX form. They build either sandybridge(1155) or 1156

what he's saying is, with a Mini-ITX build, you have to take into consideration space, the size of the cooler, how much heat it's going to create, etc.

The Zalman 9500 looks great and has a ton of positive reviews, but every comparison to the 212+ people hate on it and say it underperforms against their stock AMD heatsink. Of course, I'm going Intel, but it's kind of a turn off. The other thing is that though the Hyper 212+ has a lot of good things to back it up, it looks too big for my case. Based on measurements, the 9500 would barely fit. I might look at some low profile heatsinks and fans that fit 1155.

the 212+ BARELY fits in my mid-size case. I don't think it's gonna fit in your mini-itx case. lol. I have about 1/8 inch of room between the top of the heatsink and the side panel.

My question is...why? I can see building something that small for let's say a HTPC, but is this going to be a gaming rig?
