umm you said card. I assumed you meant graphics card. your 6970 can go to 104C. that processor can go NOWHERE NEAR that. AMD specs say the 1090T is 62C max.

I am SO glad you did not wind up thinking that your X6 cpu could get up to 104 C and be safe...LOL no.

    Re: Overclocking

I was sticking with the lowest safe one until I got a 100% sure answer.
When I put it to 3.7 it goes to roughly 60C-61C under full load. A little too close for my liking so I down clocked it back to 3.2. I want to get it around 3.5 or 3.6 but I have no idea how (I used my built in software to OC) any help?

    Re: Overclocking

all I did to OC mine was load setup through BIOS and changed my multiplier from auto to 18x and BAM instant overclock from 3.2 to 3.6. Running on stock cooler atm, hoping to get that new one soon to push it up to 4.1+

    Re: Overclocking

Nice I'll try that soon. With a good cooler you can probably get it past 4.1 fairly easily.

Well, I got the new cooler and case fans, and I'm idling 20C cooler, so now I'm at 24C instead of ~43C

    Cooler Master Hyper 212+

Don't be fooled by the picture...this thing is freaking HUGE. I have less than 1/8 inch of room to spare between the cooler and my side panel in my mid-size case. BTW, that is a 120mm fan that attaches to it, and it comes with clips so you can put one on the other side too for a push/pull config..but the heatsink is so close to the rear exhaust fan that I don't need another one.

also, just ran Prime95 for 10 minutes, never went above 42C. Gonna stress test for a few hours either tomorrow or friday.
