Alright, I get the hints. Time for a new PC

T3's been hinting at me for a while about a new pc (don't mind it, I know I need one ) sooooo I have 2 paths. AMD, and Intel. here's what I'm looking at:

I'm gonna look around on ebay to see if I can find any good deals to replace these.

I wanna go high-end just so I won't have to upgrade for a while, but I'll drop a bit..really don't want to spend over $1,000, but I also want to be able to play BC2 and MOH in at LEAST mid-settings at my monitor's res of 1440 x 900

Do you have a Micro Center near you? Not sure if they are that far out, but they have the i7 930 for $199 as their daily price.

And don't only shop Newegg.com...lol. Check Slickdeals.net and piece together the PC as you see good sales.

Newegg is good, but there are better deals to be had elsewhere. If you can save $100-$200 by piecing it together, it's worth shopping at multiple retailers.

If I wasn't planning on doing Crossfire, I would go for that. It only has one PCIe 2.0 x16 slot. Thanks though

barebones AMD Phenom II X6 2.8GHz overclocked to 3.6GHz. Cost: $799, and after shipping it's $820.14. add on a 6870, and everything together is $1,090.93. And it's got USB 3.0 and SATA 6gb/s :D

ok how about this. Anybody have any good suggestions that would keep it under or around $1,000 but would still be able to play BC2 and MoH well? Oh and I want that 6870 too

Get the Intel chipset. I have the i5-750 (Really an i7 but good old market departments...) @ 2.66GHz and its a BEAST. its the brother chip to the processor you are looking at (Lynnfield). You'll have no issues getting medium settings on BC2 with the ATI 6000 series cards, as I have a 5670 and get 2x, 4x easy. You'll never fill up 8GB of memory but its great to have. Ive only ever hit 3GB and thats running BC2, FF, and same other stuff at the same time. 500GB will serve you well. And nice case.
