I can't. The Windows AV program wont run a scan if your on the computer. If your using the computer while your scheduled scan is suppose to be running, the program is suppose to postpone the scan until the system goes back idle. I guess I could manually run the scan though.

    Re: AVG Anti-Virus 2011

    from personal experience:
I've used AVG and Microsoft Essential before. Both work nice and have probably saved me a hassle or two and found things that shouldn't be on my hard drive. I mean, they both work just fine. To me its a matter of personal preference with interface and function, which is why I like Microsoft Essentials more. AVG since it also has a paid version, so it runs the ads and stuff along with it, which I really don't like. This compared to Microsoft Essentials which is completely free and does seem to integrate just fine with windows. Just from the way it runs, ME seems minimalistic to me whereas AVG feels invasive b/c of its ads. So I would prefer ME over AVG.

I don't actually use either of them because I get Trend Micro's antivirus (which isn't free) free from my school. I know that it doesn't make it better just cause it costs money, but the functionality of it is better (it just works, no frills, no crazy graphics etc).

I switched around my antivirus before I got my new gaming rig because I had started to notice quitting my AV when I played a game would speed it up (I also turned off my internet to prevent issues). So I tried using different AV's to see if I could leave them running and not get performance decreases. So. in order from most slowdown to least, I feel like it goes: avast, avg, microsoft essentials, trend micro. Once I no longer get updates for Trend Micro through my school, I'll be switching back to Microsoft Essentials probably.

Or you could just get Game Booster that shuts down all your non-essential processes while you're playing a game. :)

Well why don't we just take down all limits and kill our bandwidth and make it so it takes 10 seconds to load each page? The limits are there for a reason, not just to annoy.
