I haven't looked at the post-match feedback but I'd guess we'll blame everything from the shape of the ball to the type of grass we played on for not coming away with a win.

Couldn't help but come across a few reports on the radio and on the telly, along with some newspaper headlines today...wow! I'd keep any sharp objects away from our goalie because if he takes a fraction of the media reports to heart he'll probably top himself.

Anyway, it's too bad if he's being hung out to dry in the media and by fans. What percentage of goals do you think are scored due to someones mistake? I dare say 75% of them. Obviously that is no scientific number, I'm just guessing. England got it's goal from a throw-in when the US defender turned his back to the player who threw the ball in and was ball watching instead of sticking with his man. That's a mistake that essentially gave England the lead early. The problem is, when it's the goalies mistake, it's the most glaring. They are the last line of defense and expected to not make mistakes... well guess what, goalies make mistakes too, you only hope it isn't on the biggest stage.

yep hoping for some sweet revenge against the ghanan's. and i still say there is an anti American conspiracy. 2 diff refs dis-allowing perfectly fine goals that woulda gave us an easy route to the round of 16. now we just need to bury like 5 against ghana that way when they dis-allow 3 we can still win.
