lol..we used to have dsl...like 6 years ago. It was a nice step up from dial-up when we didn't have the income to pay for cable.

What are you talking about DSL being the stone ages???? I've got a 25 Mbps down/25 Mbps up DSL line from Verizon. The "stone age" part is the transport. Mine comes in over fiber optic, with the older coming in over telephone lines. Even over the telephone lines, however, you can still get decent speeds.

Fiber Optics are expensive, and have to essentially have to rewired with older sub-divisions etc. IS Providers take their time upgrading or installing new fiber cables...thats why they usually found in new subdivisions and upgraded to major cities first, rural areas may never get high speed fiber optic lines...but, companies are developing high speed internet that transmits over powerlines.

you got that right... i'm as rural as it gets... the nearest town has like 200 people, and our phone company/ISP is 2 counties over.. Ozark Mountians baby, where the men are men and the sheep are fast
