my passion in life has always been music. ive played guitar for 10 years now, and just recently began exploring the world of electronic music. i hope to one day make music my livelyhood.

one artist that has changed my life goes by the name Pretty Lights. hes what you'd call a "controllerist" (fancy name for electronic musician).

all his 3 albums are free for download. even if youre not into electronic, give it a listen and i can almost be u wont regret it.

Electronic music is not necessarily techno. Before techno was ever around people were utilizing electronic devices to make all sorts of music. Ever hear of the Theremin. Funky instrument but definitely cool.

Pretty Lights is by no means "techno". Techno IMO is real simple, drawn out synth parts laid over onto boring 2-step druming (kick-snare-kick-snare etc).
Pretty lights is a combination of Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop all wrapped in one sexy electronic blanket.

its great stuff. hes got 3 full albums out now, one is a double disk, and again its all free at his homepage. this dude has made ALL his money from shows, no royalties from record corps. hes still an unsigned artist.

the first album he wrote is more down tempo than his later stuff but very chill.

no prob dude, spreading the word about good music is one of my joys in life, but when it comes to Pretty Lights i fee like a prophet.

might as well start a music topic... you can embed utube vids... thats the easiest way to share you music interests
