    Pop-up virus

    Hey guys,
just a few minutes ago, my sister got a pop-up (called Alpha Online Scan) from an internet site saying that we had got 11 high and critical infected files (like the Trojan horse) (but the pop-up looks alot like a real vista pop-up alert window). My sister told me so i went to see. It had a button saying "Erase infected files", so I pressed it. It then told me to download and save the anti-malware program Alpha Online Scan. I said no way im gonna download it, cause i realised that that pop-up was askin m to download a virus. I closed the pop-up and started running Malwarebytes Anti-malware, just incase.

I checked on internet and I was right. Recently, lots of people have been complaining about getting this pop-up over and over. I say recently because the oldest complaint i found dated from a month ago. People have been complaining that they couldnt close that pop-up.

People say it pop-uped when they were on yahoo e-mail, facebook, IMBD. So be carefull and dont accept the download.

(no one said what it actually does to your computer, so if you want to find out, u know what to do) :icon_teeth:

all you have to do is use a browser that has a pop-up blocker like firefox or google chrome. although some pop-ups do get past firefox's blocker

wow really? I've never had any issues with Chrome's pop-up blocker, and I mainly use Chrome. That's odd...
