What you have to anderstand it is verry big that is why you can't burn it ,you have to install it than after that you make a backup disc. if you know a lot about computer maybe you can try to burn it first when you going to do the downloading ,you gonna have to select your dvd or cd recoder . :)

Your choice. I'd do it but just make sure you burn it to a cd so you'll have a backup if your pc crashes

brownman, when you get the "student special" like me wants, they only give you a download of the operating system not a disk so you'd have to burn it.

Umm before you tell him to "take the 64 bit OS ' you might want to "ASK HIM" if his computer is a 64-bit machine BEFORE you tell him to buy it. Just a thought................................... :icon_rolleyes: :icon_razz:

Well... regardless, you'd be foolish to not buy Win 7 for $40. I mean if nothing else resell it and make some money. :P

That would be a felony if I'm not mistaken. I do know it's illegal, just not sure to what extent. :icon_mrgreen:

Actually you do have to burn it to a dvd. That's the only way you can load win7 or any windows for that matter, because you have to tell the computer to boot from the dvd. I burned my copy of win7 professional (x64) to a dvd and it fit on it. dvd's (+ or - r's) hold 4.7gb of space on them, and the windows 7.iso is only 3gb. it will work. but yes, as brownman said, make a backup disc too just in case something happens to the original.

You cant sell a downloaded OS. Selling anything thats homemade and burned is a big no no. If its a retail DVD your legal.. you can sell it on amazon or ebay. Used or new. OEM's are not really legal either unless you provide some kind of computer hardware with it and even then ebay yanks alot of auctions that do that even tho alot of sellers get away with it. Ebay cant babysit everybody altho it trys to. Now if you had a 40$ retail dvd of win 7 then ya selling it would be great if you didnt want to use it yourself. However Im fairly certain that NOBODY is handing out 40$ dvd's of win 7 student or not. That would be like the school handing out money ..money they dont have to hand out.

Win 7 is going go be an excellent OS especially after SP1... why wouldn't you take advantage?

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

Oh, I'll just tell you that not a lot of programs utilize XP 64 bit. That was how I felt about Vista though :icon_weird:

He means he's getting the (x64) version of win7, not XP 64-bit.

and ME, you have a bandwidth limit? dang that's gotta suck.

You honestly think someone is gonna exceed 500Gb of bandwidth/month...Thats a lot of illegal downloading to fill that up :icon_crazy:
