    Donating to TKC

I have posted another news item about members who have earned their "Donations Valorous" ribbon and I wanted to take this time to hit up those of you who haven't ever donated to the clan, so this message is for you. Also there is some information about our Paypal account and how I handle money so please read.

I know some of you guys have no way to donate money to the clan and we do understand that so no worries. Some have the means but for whatever reason have never given. Maybe you don't have extra money to spare and I can understand that excuse as well and wouldn't want your child to go hungry or your rent not to be paid. We all have priorities and any adult understands that so many things have to come before donations to a gaming clan. However, I know there are some who just haven't taken the time to support the clan who has given them 9 servers and built a community for them to be a part of. Friendships have been made, hours and hours of good times, fun discussions and much more. To you who have enjoyed what we've helped provided and could at times give a little bit back, I ask, why not?

We aren't asking for your first born but if you could give just $2 every once in a while that would be better than nothing. $20 a year pays for 1 server for an entire month! $25 would pay for our website for 2 months. Guys we have several members who give money to us every month, and those guys are paying for YOU. The only recognition they get is a ribbon to go next to their name on the members list. Other than that, they do it because they love TKC and want to help support it. I toyed with the idea of posting the names of people who have given, as we track and record every single donation, but I decided not to do that because after all it IS a donation and not a fee. No one is required to give money so I don't want to embarrass anyone. Instead I decided to make this plea to those who could give, but haven't. I ask you, please consider donating a few dollars to TKC when you have a chance. The clan could really use your support even if you aren't in TKC.

Now some information about who maintains the money and where it is and how we spend it...

All money donations go into a Paypal account that I maintain. I do not spend that money on anything unrelated to the clan. In addition, I do from time to time send money to those other members who have servers in their name to help pay for those servers. I have used the money to purchase the medals we got several months ago and the new logo we enjoy. I use the money to pay for HLstatsX however I will soon be canceling that hosting as we now use the free alternative HLstatsX CE. It also pays for our website and Teamspeak server. In other words, the money is TKC money and TKC money only so if you make a donation, know that it will directly help pay for the servers we rent whether its a game server, web server, etc.

Because I do take your donations seriously I try my best to be a good steward of the clans money. It was the main reason I researched HLstatsX CE to see if it would be a suitable replacement for our pay service. It's the main reason we are leaving behind the uber expensive FPSgameservers for the cheaper and better run gameservers.com and it is why I've been working with gameservers.com to lower our monthly fees on a couple of our servers (I've only saved us $4 a month so far as that goes). All told starting next month we should be saving $64.54 every month. Some might say, well you are saving money now why hit us up for more? The answer is simple, we want TKC to grow. We have plans for new servers. A Left 4 Dead 2 server and now that Modern Warfare 2 is a bust, a Battlefield: Bad Company 2 server when it comes out at the beginning of March. We want the flexibility to give back to you guys too with special events with awards, having the ability to give monetary rewards for earning the Medal of Honor and Member of the Year. Not to mention the occasional odd expense like medals or new logos. Because of all those reason and the fact that we want all our members to 'own' TKC and really feel a part of something neat, we'd like everyone capable to give whatever they can, whenever they can.

Thanks for taking the time to read this pretty long post and I hope to see a couple new members finding the donation button soon. :icon_teeth:

I guess it's not necessary for people to post in here, but I hope that the people I was speaking to at least read this and that it made some kind of impression on them.

i don't have a way of donating money right now except for my mom's credit card, and she thinks it's just a waste of money to donate money to a video game. I'll have a job soon and my own bank account hopefully within the next month, and then i'll be donating regularly to help keep TKC running :)

C-Star....How about a Money Order?? You can get a MO at Walmart for 68 cents... maybe T can give you an address and you can contrabute by sending a money order?? No pressure... just a suggestion if you are serious about sending a donation. I'm sure T would be able to work something out with you. :) PJ's

well i could do that, but then again i would need a ride to go there (no driver's license), and most likely my parents would take me, and there we have the parent problem again. Funny thing is they tell me to get a job and then I can get my license. :icon_neutral: kinda need a license to GET a job, but ok. Just turned in an application at Zaxby's (for you non-southwesterners, that is a chicken restaurant). hopefully i'll get the job.

Don't worry about it. Just donate after you get a job and can do it.

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

ill be happy to donate, once im unbanned and treated as MOTD outlines... grrr ppl not caring about the rules AND the truth. paypal rocks! so does TKC! sum1 has a little angst and is ban happy against me! i finally learned speed orb and frag grab & cant wait to get back on and give a couple $20's now and then... hope some admin sees my posts and takes care of this... its only a day ban but i didnt do ANYTHING and shouldnt be banned for 1 minute. ive always loved the TKC servers and will keep future donations in mind ASAP.

Dude... you can't buy your way out of bans. I really don't know if you were treated unfairly or not, but the MOTD isn't the be all, end all, to our rules. The rules are more extensive than we could fit on any MOTD.

If the admin has second thoughts on this and sees fit to set the ban as time served, so be it.. otherwise you'll just have to ride it out. I wasn't there and really don't know what all the admin saw.
