Those should still be fine. When you're leaving the base the best thing you should do is toss a nade in the portal to ensure you don't get killed. As for the slams behind the base or garage hallway's, Typically if you jump and crouch you can avoid many of the slams people place...but throwing a barrel through or smg nade or even nading the side of the entrance should clear the slams.

Re: New Rule, No More invisible Slams.

I know all of that I am just saying its on the same level as a invisible slam, an invisible slam isn't completely invisible you could do all of the above to an invis. slam, nade it, throw barrel through it, shoot it with your pistol, you can see the slam attached to the wall, only the laser is invisible. It's just as bad to put slams on warps or behind any of the jump through walls as it is to put a invisible slam up.....

People don't just put them on the invisible wall going to the base they put them in the crouch spot going to the sniper towers, on the walls you can jump through to the towers, on the warps entering towers, on wall you jump through the garage and the other entrance to that back hall way, about 99% of all invisible slams were used only in the base, where they were pretty easy to see if you were paying attention, So if the ruling stands on invisible slams so be it, I just wanted a clear rule to all uses of the slam, and what about people putting them an the spawn points, that has to be against rules, right? That seems like a map exploit to me....

Placing slams on spawn points has always been against the rules. That isn't really the definition of 'map exploit'. A map exploit would be like on the source version of Runoff, how you can get behind the hill and shoot people without being seen. No one was meant to get behind the hill its just that the map designer missed it and it can be exploited. As for the other stuff you're talking about, the others can decide stuff since I don't play HL2DM much anymore.

Yeah placing slams on a spawn point is bad, but are we now to say we cant use slams at all then...placing them behind the walls is strategic...if they were out in the open they'd serve no purpose...
Having an invisible slam is a cheating exploit that I don't like, but I don't think we should disallow placing slams behind doors, portals EVERYONE DOES IT

People even place slams up against walls so the laser is semi-hidden...Is this allowed aswell?

Re: New Rule, No More invisible Slams.

Placing slams at spawn points IE crows nest tower, the little fenced off bit where you get slams etc is off limits, it's hard enough to spawn on Flems without getting killed 3 or 4 times and then have to deal with the spawn points being slammed, it just so happens one of those spawn points is where the teleporter comes from the garage. Most servers I've played on don't let you place slams at spawn points or teleport points.. putting them behind the invisible walls should still be allowed as well as the invisible wall leading to tower one.. just not the teleport spots..

There are some guys on the server that rack up a lot of cheap kills but putting slams on teleport points...one guy in particular whose name I cannot recall gets a ton of his kills like that. I hvae been killed by his slams at every single teleport point at one time or another.

I know this isn't against the rules. But what's really annoying is when someone gets bored cause Flem's is empty for an hour or so, they go and load up on slam's and set slams EVERYWHERE. People end up dying 10 times before they even SEE that other person that's on the map. I think that's a little rediculous.

LOL i've done that a few times in squid's. I set them EVERYWHERE! The only place I didn't put them is at spawn points, but I've found places where you can put a slam but you can't see the laser until you're like a foot away from it. but by then it's too late.

If it is on spawn points, which happens A LOT on squids early in the morning, it is illegal. I hate that it counts as a 20 point deduction for suiciding because the $#%^@$ left after setting all the slams. Someone needs to catch this guy. It is usually very early in the morning on weekends.

Most Likely it would be European Players that play in the early mornings, with the time shift in all. But if no-one plays on a server for the entire late night time ie 3am to 6am, then whoever were the last to play could set the slams and they can still be there overnight if the round never resets due to lack of players/killing.

They can easily place slams everywhere and then leave which pisses me off to an unusual extremity. Slams are cool, but there are too many things that make them cheap and unfair.
