    Re: Favorite Music

Nemesis' comments don't even make sense. Calling Boston, Styx and Journey "ballad rock"? Obviously hasn't listened to an album by any of them, because we all know the ballads from "The Grand Illusion" and "Pieces of Eight". :icon_rolleyes:

Journey and Styx both put out a couple power ballads, which I really don't mind at all as I have stated I like all kinds of music, (yes Josh I have some eminem on my mp3 player), but to call it 'ballad rock' just shows a total lack of knowledge when it comes to those bands. Oh and Boston had maybe 1 ballad.. if you can even call it that, "Amanda".

As for calling Freddie Mercury the "greatest singer of all time", that's a little over the top. You could of at least narrowed that down to greatest ROCK singer, but even then just from the first 3 bands I mentioned I'd put Steve Perry against Freddie Mercury any day of the week. However I wouldn't make a big deal on this as Mercury was one of the greatest rock voices ever.

Opinions are like aholes, everyone has one.

If you said that to me when I was a teen, I'd of punched you in the face, now i'm older and realize that all kinds of people have all kinds of opinions, so you enjoy what you enjoy, and i'll enjoy what I enjoy.

Of course I don't get all excited about bands anymore... I outgrew that and haven't listened to a Styx album all the way thru in quite some time.

Don't Look Back, Third Stage and Walk On all were good.

I'll try not to share my opinions in the future as they are either not wanted or made fun of.

BTW I can't view video here at work.

Green Days new stuff is pop-crap (American Idiot CD and the new one)...
Brain Stew, Blood Sex + Booze, Basket Case, (pretty much Dookie and Nimrod Are their only great albums).

There a Corporate Sellout... something Weezer is leaning towards now too unfortunately (Nothing Can Beat the Blue Album, greatest CD of the 90s)

Kind of figured you were throwing Kilroy Was Here in my face. While there were some good songs off the album the production value of that video sucks. My Styx was the Styx of 75-80.. This is probably my all time favorite Styx song...

I think eric cartman saved the song... the lead singer is like the male (i belief :icon_question: ) version of barbra streisand (whose both the male and female version of "itself")

    Re: Favorite Music

Just messin around T3. The fact that one of my favorite styles of music is Punk Rock is kind of a joke considering how talentless most punk rock music is. I love the attitude behind it though. Although I'm over that stage of my life, I still can enjoy most the tunes I use to rock out to and the times I spent moshing with my 8 inch mohawk (equally ridiculous) will forever leave an imprint on my personality. Besides, you are by far not the only one to enjoy those bands. Each of them have enjoyed quite the fame and fortune from their music (much more than any punk band), which suggests something about their quality. And you are also not the only one I have made fun of for enjoying those bands. I rag on my friends almost on a daily basis for loving Journey. So I guess what that means is I consider you my friend :icon_happy: .
