    WHOAH BABY.. HERE WE COME!!
One of the best things about this 60 year old is that I can go back to the OLDIES and transform up to the NEWIES in music.

The nice thing about reliving old music (as you will know when you all get older) is that you really can remember where you were in time, and the things you were doing at the time when you hear certain songs. Yep... it's true, songs measure mile stones in one's life. I can remember buying and playing the "SARGENT PEPPER'S" album (back in '67) all night long. I was too young for Elvis, Bobby Daren, Rickey Nelson, Fatts Domino and a dozen other famous names most of you never heard of, but picked up on the New Rock era... The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Dave Clark 5, The Animals, WHO, Yard Birds, Byrds, Donovan and The Ramones. :icon_mrgreen: Acid Rock Hippie Music... Strawberry Alarm Clock, Blues Magoos, Cream, Iron Butterfly, Vanilla Fudge, Jimmi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin :icon_exclaim: Then came AEROSMITH, AC/DC, Springsteen, David Bowie (Glam Rock), KISS, Heart, Queen (Gobbles... WE LIVED THAT QUEEN video you showed.. Bicycle.. Saw those COLORS and visuals in MANY TRIPS.... MANY TIMES in the 60's and 70's!!) ****PHEW****

Now I Listen to Van Halen, Velvet Revolver, Foo Fighters, Killers, Bush, Beck, Blink 182, Rage Against the Machine, Smash Mouth, Sound Garden, Green Day, Strokes, Train, Collective Soul, U2, The White Stripes, R.E.M., Weezer, CORN, and lots of other Rock bands.

My Son is into stuff I think sucks.. SCREAM ROCK... UNDEROATH, The Used, Slipknot, This Runs Through, A Skylit Drive, The Devil Wears Prada and a lot of RAP music. :) Peace out... Pajamas

I like all types of music but as a teen I LOVE Styx, Boston, Journey, etc. I still love those arena rock bands but I like other stuff most people wouldn't get. Michael Crawford, The Platters, etc. I love The Beach Boys, The Monkees, and lots of newer stuff too. I like Stone Temple Pilots, Creed (not calling this new), the Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Alanis Morissette (Yes i'm an angry woman!), Linkin Park, Van Halen, Matchbox 20, Phil Collins, the list goes on.

What you call arena rock I call ballad rock or butt rock haha! I can't believe you like that stuff T3. Boston, Journey and Styx each have like 4 or 5 good songs and the rest make my ears bleed. To each their own I guess.

Personally, I love Classic Rock, Punk, Metal, Classical, Jazz, all sorts of stuff I guess really. Gobbles, nice on the Pixies. I saw them live once and it was a sweet show. Too bad I can't remember all the songs they played because I was drunk on steel reserves.

    Re: Favorite Music

Classic Rock FTW..but some underground stuff like the pixies are Awesome, and some newer aged rock is good (Weezer,Blink,Collective Soul, STP, Sound Garden...mostly 90s stuff, not that new but thats what i'd call new, 2000's dont count)
But I must say the 2000's have been one of the worst decades of music...all scream music / EMO to me...blah!!!!
There have been a few decent songs this decade: Sam Roberts, Arkells are alright (Most of you dont know any of them; their Canadian)

I listen to a Toronto Radio Stations 102.1 The Edge (newer rock) and Q107.1 (classic rock) and i must say the best part of the day is the Edges 90s Nooner.

Anyone get 107.1... I here it transmits across Lake Ontario To Detroit to New York State Area (so prob as far as Buffalo?)

    Re: Favorite Music

Its official -- im just restating the obvious -- PJs is the COOLEST GUY on these forums!! :icon_crazy:

Dave Clark 5 ! Donovan (hurdy gurdy man) ! awesome... im 99% with ya! (and "sympathy for the devil" is the greatest rock song of all time/second is "jumpin jack flash")

cant say the same for T3 :P ... but you saved yourself a little at the end with CCR/eagles.

Since PJS covered all the classics... some older guys like Ledbelly and blind willlie johnson are awesome.

as for post-classic rock era... there are too many to name but... the velvet underground, (iggy pop and) the stooges, black flag, the pixies>this song helped make fight club cool (as well as the anti-capitalist/feminist/nihilistic theme)<and drunk, i guess, is better than twisted ;) ... either way

    [utube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGXdXcpNsv4[/utube]

i know some of you are too young to know this type of music... but download it or something :icon_crazy: :icon_cunning:

    Re: Favorite Music

Oh yeah I forgot about Matchbox 20. I can play Closing Time on the guitar, and I con also play Collective Soul's "Where the River Flows" too.

As for Beck, that's some of the most hilarious random stuff ever! And Pj's I think you meant KoŠÆn lol.

Used to listen to Green Day, I LOVE Boulevard of Broken Dreams....can play that and Wake Me Up When September Ends on guitar....lost respect for them after Bullet In A Bible where they're bashing Americans and basically everything I stand for.

Oh yeah I just got back from a Skillet concert on Tuesday in Johnson City, TN. WAS FREAKING AWESOME! Got a bad pain in my neck from headbanging...so worth it though. This new band called The Letter Black was touring with them. Their lead singer is a girl, and lemme tell you, she can scream really well.

I might actually be on Skillet's website and on their myspace. When they were performing Those Nights, John Cooper (lead singer) got out a camcorder and was recording the crowd while he was singing. Looked right at me and my group towards the end of the video. I'll post a link to the video once he posts it.
