There's a lot of newer ones that have way more features around now too like this one from Razer:

I definitely feel that having all 10 number keys and several programmable keys (you can even customize them for each individual game) in close reach to the wasd keys like this helps give you and edge... especially in fps's.

I think he would need a keyboard with normal buttons because of school work and writing
