Intel's CPU's are also leading the market for less power consumption=less=better performance. the i9 is unconfirmed but it is bound to happen soon. it has 6 cores. heres a little link http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,6954 ... ured/News/

Is Windows 7 RC stable? I've been thinking of trying it out but since I only have 1 HDD I didn't want to take any chances with it messing up. Maybe I could look for a PC version of Parallels and try that....

And I tried overclocking my GPU but I'm not sure exactly how to use the programs safely. lolz the first time I overclocked it I started getting these weird green lines on my screen (barely noticeable). The weird thing was as soon as I clicked restart and my icons disappeared, the lines vanished. I have both Rivatuner and ATITools. Can anybody help me with OC'ing?

    Re: Amazing Computer

It is an amazing computer DonQuan that your looking at building. Newegg rocks been buying there for years.. Shellshocker daily deals are amazing there. watch for them each morning if you can cause if its good its sold out before noon. Asus makes the best boards hands down. So thats an excellent choice. I would choose the ATI 4890 video card like brownman said. Nothing against Nvidia except that they have paired off with Intel and With that being said INTEL SUCKS. Why because they do.."trust me Im a doctor".
Basically its the COST ..buck for buck AMD blows them away. Sure you can buy the best I7 quadcore.. newegg has them for 999 bucks.. umm isnt that the same as 1000 dollars ? Sure close enough. Thats about the same squeaky difference between the I7 and the AMD Phenom II X4 965. But what about the price dude. What explains Intels need to ask three times the bucks for not even three times the performance or even two times the performance ..no its about dead even. Sure Intel squeaks out maybe a bit more but does that equate to asking three times the price ? And were not talking about just a cheap quadcore from AND were talking the best they have is only 245 dollars. Ya I dont think Intel deserves anything. After years of hearing and seeing "Intel Inside" and working on slow and constantly locked up and hanging p4 after p4 if I never see another Intel sticker it would be a beautiful day. Intel would like nothing better than to see AMD or any other company in its grave for good. But they havent been able to do that and thats because AMD makes not only a great processor but the prices are soooooo much cheaper than Intel.
Look at this price this is AMDs best..http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103692
Now look at Intels price ..http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115212
Is it worth that much more money.. personally if I had all the money in the world Id say no.

I went the AMD route and dumped nvidia but I have to be honest.. of all the PC's I built, that was the only machine that essentially fell apart on me. Was it because it was an AMD CPU and mobo? I don't know, but that is the taste it left in my mouth so I went back to intel and have had no problems. And I don't build crappy machines.. for that machine I went top of the line.. but I can't remember the specs now.. all I can say is that i've been much happier with intel and nvidia than amd and ati.

That is my own personal experience and I understand that, so make of it what you will.

It's not a very good one lol that's why I want to overclock it. It's a Dell Pentium 4 (1.7Ghz), 512mb of RAM, 150Gb HDD and a 256mb Ati Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card

oh I understand ya when things go south you dont want that to happen again sure. It might have been the board tho. Boards have come a very very long way in just the last three years. Its hard to say if they are as dependable as we would like them to be but they are pretty much so compared to the headaches of the past. I think things are very nice now with what we have to choose from on the market.

i don't think it is recomended to overcllcked your computer because of your spec . it would be better to buy your self a new one . The problems are ,(Dell Pentium 4 (1.7Ghz), 512mb of RAM, 150Gb HDD and a 256mb Ati Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card) :icon_duh:

    Re: Amazing Computer

Problem is, my computer uses RamBUS, which is the biggest piece of crap RAM to ever exist. My computer can support 2GB, but the problem is RamBus is really expensive (best deal I found was $80 for a pair of 512mb cards). that would cost me $160 plus shipping just to get 2Gb of RAM, when if I had a computer that used DDR Ram, I could go to Wal-Mart and get a 2Gb stick for 60 bucks.

Outdated hardware is not cheap. Even my video card costed me around $80 and it's only 256mb. I have an AGP slot, so I can't go above 512mb GPU memory :icon_sad:
