I've really tried to stay out of this discussion because I didn't initiate it, and didn't want this to be a distraction to the group. I had sorta hoped it would just peter out and die.
But, at this point I feel I need to make a few salient, and factual points.
1. I did not expect that brief comment to create such a stir.
2. A large part of that comment was to force people to "think" about the financial impact of their decisions. I offer tremendous opportunities for people to get top notch hardware and near half price. It's real easy for someone to rationalize the expense, and can then easily over extend themselves. Especially when the payment terms are nebulous, and open ended. Then they get the stuff and then go "Oh shit! This hardware is awesome...but how am I going to pay for it?"
3. At no time did I ever make a complaint about payment to anyone. Not to the organization, nor to the individuals involved.
4. At no time did I throw anyone under the bus. (Not how I was raised)
5. Even in private discussions with T3 I made it clear that I would not divulge names in the context of non-payment. That was between me and the individual. It's the way I was raised. That's why he had to ask who it was.
6. Dragon shared his personal issue with me some months ago. I've never shared that information with anyone, not even my wife. A private discussion of very personal issues comes with an implied confidentiality. I'm an honorable man and would never violate that kind of trust.
7. I admire T3 for feeling that he had to right an apparent wrong. That shows you the kind of leader that he is. He doesn't, and won't, stand for a real or perceived wrong to go uncorrected on his watch.
8. Here is another awesome deal from the Old Dog....for anyone that still owes me money, I want you to donate it, in my name, to the TKC general fund. The money isn't that important to me as I have worked real hard to attain a very comfortable standard of living. But..... personal honor does mean something to me. This way we all win, the team wins, and everyone's honor is maintained.
I do want to thank everyone that wanted to make sure I wasn't taken advantage of....shows you the deep character of this fine group of people.
In closing, ......
I want to ask that anyone that has read Dragon's deeply personal declaration either forget you read it, or keep its knowledge in absolute confidence. That is a sensitive, private, and for obvious reasons, personally painful declaration for Dragon to make to his friends. I ask that you remember that we are all friends here, and friends pull together, not apart.
T3, my good friend, I would like to consider this matter closed, and this thread either locked, or deleted altogether.
