Need PC HELP!

My idiot brother wanted to try Ubuntu so he made a partition on my computer because he broke his computer not too long ago. He installed it to the partition, decided he didnt like it, deleted the partition and extended the windows partition. He restarted and now I can't get passed the GRUB RESCUE> thing

Help?

i had this problem before, but i didn't delete the partition. Try to remake a new partition with enough space to reinstall windows, then install windows in it

i'm really not sure what i did before to fix it

The problem is I can't log into windows after bios startup it goes straight to a black screen with text that says grub rescue> and it is waiting for like a command or something.

in the windows install disk there are a couple of options of what to do, if you can just list them (like go through each option and say what it does or what it says) it would help. Because i remember being in the same position and i did something then it worked

well, the first time i had this problem i had to reinstall windows. But before you install it it will tell you if it's going to replace your files or not, if you have had a windows install already there, then it will make a folder called windows.old. But for me, it most likely will be different for you because i remember i did something stupid, when i re-installed windows it still didn't work. What version of windows? if it's vista or 7 then it should make a windows.old file with your files in it

1. Put windows recovery Disc in drive

2. Startup PC

3. Let the PC run into the CD

4. Choose the Recovery Console

5. Type you admin username

6. Type your admin password

7. Type Fixmbr

8. Type exit

9. Eject Disc

10. Load windows !

11. Enjoy !
