If so, could you give the make and model, if not, could you give the model number of your motherboard. You'll have to upgrade to a dedicated graphics cards, which will probably mean a new power supply as well.

Check out various video cards first though. Most Mid Range cards like GTX260 or HD 5770/4850 dont require as much power as the high end cards.

You might as well look around for Midrange (or high-end if you want) DirectX 11 cards (ATI HD 5000 series and Nvidia GTX 300 series). That way you'll get great performance and be set for future games aswell.

You running 64bit XP, Vista or 7?

I'm pretty sure he's running x86 (32-bit) XP. I didn't see anything for that CPU that said is was x64 (64-bit) compatible, only that it was an x86 chip.

    Re: Battlefield: Bad Company 2

i would say u should be able to run it with just a graphic card update as long as your power supply can handle it. i have a lesser cpu but a better graphics card and from what im reading i can handle the game with what i have so. I just have a dual core amd processor but i have 3 gigs of ram and the 9600gt video card. i run modern warfare 2 without a hitch and some of the message baords are saying the comp specs are kinda close so if u can run mw2 u should be able to at least run BC2 albeit u might have to drop ur graphics to a lower level. But if u can swing it some of the midrange cards people are suggesting look like the thing. I myself am looking at either the 250gts ( which is 139.99 on tigerdirect for the 1gb card the 512mb memory 250gts's are like $20-30 cheaper but id suggest the few extra dollars for the 1gb) or grabbin another 9600gt and sli-ing them. But then again im gonna wait to see if my system runs it,if it doesnt im gonna go ahead and build a new one.

    Just found this

Just to let you guys know, I'm looking at getting a very healthy tax return this year, so on top of paying off my two cars I'll be purchasing a new TV, PS3, and the new video card that I need to for BC2! Woot!

    quick question

    first my specs

    2.10 dual core
    3 GB ram
    Nvidia Geforce 8200M
    Vista

that said, i seem to meet min requirements but my graphics card or processor are no where near the recommended. based on your guys' experience, even your guesses, how well might my perfomance be for that game.

if your GPU isn't anywhere near recommended, then you're gonna have to keep the resolution and graphic detail pretty low to get good performance.

Is the 8200M a dedictated graphics card or is it an onboard (ie on the motherboard)? Because most modern motherboards, including ones with onboard graphics have at least 1 PCI Express slot (yours is probably PCIe 1.0) so you still should be able to get a new dedicated graphics card for it. (Cards like the GTX 250/260 or ATI 4760/4750 / 5750 range from $100 - $200+).

Note (Just because you have a Graphics card in a higher seriers, doesnt neccessarily mean its better than all cards lower. ie: A Nvidia 7800GT is probably better than a 8200 or 8400. The low numbers tend to have lower video ram and clock speeds than the higher model numbers (even for lower series...however 8000 seriers all support directx 10 and 7000 dont, but most directx10 games require at least a midrange dx10 card to see any benefit of directx10).
You may see this on some games where it lists supported Chipsets: Nvidia 6000/7000/8000/9000/GTX Series / ATI x1000/x2000/HD 2000/3000/4000 (Except 6200,7200, / x1250 etc)

DUDES!! My parents are so close of accepting for me to have BC2! The only problem, is the BETA. I really want it, but it is only guaranteed on EAstore and STEAM, when you pre-order BC2 as a downloadable. Im not really keen on having 15gigs downloaded and I prefer to have a CD. So i really dont know what to do! If ai had the BETA, I would post youtube videos of matches. But i prefer CD!

As I understand, there is a limited amount of BETA keys. retail stores dont guarantee a beta key.

its onboard. im gonna find out for sure if theres an open slot for a dedicated card, that would be awesome if i had just 'that' much mored capability. i really wanna play ME2, and it just so happens my chipset is exclueded from meet min requirments. but i torrented it anyway. :icon_mrgreen:
