Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Are there video cards out there good enough for a PCI express slot from 3 and 1/2 years ago. I just simply don't know enough about computers to know what to get or if my computer can even handle the newer technology. I also need to get new ram but that is easy. I definitely can not afford a new computer strong enough for a game like Battlefield Bad Company 2 right now but I would not mind upgrading if it meant that I could play this game as well as StarCraft 2. If I am out of luck with this computer then I will probably have to wait a bit closer to the StarCraft 2 release, which nobody knows for sure when that will be.

Well any computer you build that can run BC2 will be able to run SC2 I promise you.. so why wait?

Because I can not afford to build a new PC; only upgrade the one I have, which I believe would be a waste of money.

The 1000w is for my new computer and specially because of my new XFX Radeon HD 5770 Video Card,but are you sure it is not going to be possible for me to play the game(BC2)

I guess that would leave you room for running crossfire later on.

I'll be getting it on the day it comes out which I believe will be 5th March for Europe.

Geforce 8500 (soon upgrading to ati radeon 5750 or 5770, or some new Nvidia card like the 300 series)

I imagine the 300 series is going to be in the high $300-low $400 range. If you can manage to double your GPU budget then go with the 5850. Whole lot better performance than the 5770 while still keeping the DX 11 support.

I would love to get this game, but my parents would not approve of it until I'm 17. I really do want another game to be playing with TKC because after a year straight of only HL2 it can get a little bit dry during long sets of games.

The age angle is a good thing to consider in the future. What was HL2 rated?

Errr... I think this is good new. BC2 PC MULTIPLAYER DEMO COMES OUT ON JANUARY 28TH. it ends 25th of february. Almost a full month! well ill be getting that!

EDIT: the map is not that desert map, its Port Valdez, a snow and mountain terrain.

ya i guess that might be a problem for me too, but ill try to convince them.

HL2 was rated M, but the DM has ratings that depend fully on the responsibility of the players around you. Pretty much I play HL2 like any other game because it isn't near as realistic as some of these games that put realism to the fullest, but the bad thing is it uses the language of the average american at it's disposal.
