    This is cool.

So I've been looking around for a new GPU and stumbled across this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102857&cm_re=5850-_-14-102-857-_-Product

As you can see, it says it comes with a combo deal if you get a 600W PSU with it, the thing is, the combo deal is that you actually get the PSU for free. And it's not a bad one either. So I'm kicking myself because I just got a new 600W PSU when I could have saved my money and just got that video card/PSU bundle. Then....I start thinking on the bright side, if I get the card and PSU I'd have a spare PSU laying around, just in case. THEN....I REALLY get to thinking, why not run both PSU's in the same computer. No here's the problem. The PSU on/off switch is controlled by the motherboard. There is a 24-pin connector on the PSU that connects to the mobo and two pins out of the 24 are the one's that control the PSU turning on/off. So I'm like, crap, but I go to the Google Machine to see what I can dig up. Come to find out you can just jumper the two pins on the 24-pin connector coming from the PSU to turn it on, or you can jumper them with a switch in the line so you can turn it on/off with the push of a button. So I know your like, "DonJuan, what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?" What I can do is, buy the new card with the PSU, mod out the PSU with the button and mount it in my case, then I can use that secondary PSU to power my GPU only and use the primary PSU for powering the mobo. This actually takes a lot of the strain off of a PSU and will give more power for a better OC on my CPU/RAM. It'll also extend the life of both PSU's since they, again, won't have as much of a strain on them. There's just some food for though.

Now that I look at this, it's such a PJ's post.

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

Heck yeah, as long as I do get that GPU/PSU combo deal. I'm not sure yet.

    I think you should :icon_crazy:
then incase one of em does break down, you do have another one and yea..it will take a load off ur current PSU + that good GPU to go with it :P
If you have 2 PCI-E card slots on ur mobo then you can also add your existing one to that PSU... have like 4 monitors pluged in...too many ideas.....if only i had money :icon_mean:
