Which processor is better and which videocard.

This should give you ample information to make a decision

There is no decision for me, I don't consider AMD or Radeon. If you decided to go with AMD and Radeon one time, like I did several years ago, and that ended up being the only computer you ever had that failed, both CPU and GPU, you'd be an Intel, Nvidia person too. I also choose Mayo over Miracle Whip.. cause Miracle Whip tastes like dirty feet. :oo

I'm sticking with my AMD/ATI stuff. So problems so far for me. Then again I've never had CPU or GPU issues, either...

To each his own, I know that both sides have their pluses. I will be building a AMD HTPC for cost reasons.

in an attempt to restrain myself from starting a hardware war :PP i will say this: each has its own uses, each has its strengths and each has its weaknesses. a good builder should look at all the combinations and choose the best fit for the application.
i myself have rigs that contain combinations of each. price-performance is a big for me, as well as power draw and heat output. :)

CPU I will always go Intel, just personal preference and I can afford it... Graphics, makes no difference to me both have worked well for me in the past.. but I do prefer EVGA Cards

I have used both as well. I tend to stick with intel and nvidia, but I do use AMD from time to time. In my HTPC build it will most likely by AMD.

I had AMD at one time..... The GPU literally caught on fire after 3 hours of use. No overclocking or anything. I tend to go Intel/Nvidia now. I have built a few budget AMD builds for family and they love them. Everything works out great for them. But like everyone has stated, each has their ups and downs.

Yep.. that's what happened to me. My GPU burned up but it did last me more than 3 hours. haha wow.

This must have been like 15 or more years ago. As the new AMD processors wont burn up.

He said, and I also meant, the GPU not the CPU.

This was almost exactly 6 years ago. My daughter was one years old. Her birthday is in December and she will be 7. I still have the dual core socket 932 CPU but the GPU (dont remember which exact model it was) caught on fire. I believe it was a Sapphire brand. I returned it after really great customer service. No hassles or anything. Got the return label, sent it back and they refunded my money within days of me shipping it out.

i have seen both burn up, my second video card which was a 6800 gs fried 2 motherboards + processor + memory. its rare but it happens. i have seen a lot more PSU issues then anything else. i can't stress enough how important it is to get a good quality single rail PSU.

Let me put it as gently as possible...

AMD/ATI can suck the dookie out of a dead midgets rectum. Questions?
