    Took the plunge....i7-980X for sale

Got tired of waiting for the 3930K to become available, so I just went for the 3960K.

Picked up the ASUS P9X79 Deluxe, the RTS2011LC Intel Cooler, and 16GB of Geil 1600 XMP Quad Channel Ram.
    20120119_134835.jpg

    Runs Awesome.....

I Have it OC'd right now to 4296.7 just using the ASUS Auto Tune.
    OC1.jpg

Now, what to do with this....
    MSI Big-Bang X-power Mobo, i7-980x Extreme 6 Core CPU, 12gb Corsair Tri-channel ram, and Corsair H50 cooler.
I offered it for bidding at $650 awhile back. Got one offer of $500. I can incorporate it into a build for my office and get $750 minimum.
But I'd like to offer it here again in order to help out a squad mate. But frankly, $500 is too little.

I was going to save this for my son and give it to him upon his return from Afghanistan, but I think I'll wait and build him a totally super coming home computer.

Before anyone chooses to sate the obvious, ....."its a 1366 chipset and thats history" ....... I still think this still has a a long life ahead of it. Find me an Intel Exreme Hex core CPU, Mobo, Ram, Water Cooler combo for under $650.

And look at all those slots....Crossfire and SLI ready.

I can absolutely confirm it rocks BF3 without a blink of an eye.

Just so you folks know, I installed that stuff in a New Cooler Master case, hooked up a 1350 watt Enermax PSU (purchased for my box but not yet put in), a 550 Ti video card, and an OCZ Agility 3 SSD.......... just so you can see that it all works as testifued.

Don't mind the wiring.....its only temporary.

But as you can see.......its what I say it is.

Re: Took the plunge....i7-980X for sale

Seems we have someone to take advantage of this offer.

I will send him a fully functioning computer less video card (He is going to use one he has)
    System will include:

    Intel i7-980X Extreme CPU
    MSI X-Power Big Bang Board
12GB of Corsair Vengence Triple Channel Ram.
    H50 Corsair Cooler

    +
    Cooler Master Mid-Tower case
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119227
120 GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD for OS and main games( have 2 of them sitting around here)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227726
WD 1TB Black, WD1002FAEX, for storage (I have 2 of these as well)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533
An optical Drive with Lightscribe (TBD - I have several in my parts cabinet.)
A 1050 Watt PSU, TBD...may put my Corsair 1050 in it and put the 1350 Enermax I just got in my box.
    Windows 7 Ultimate with SP1

All put together and fully finctional before shipping for (your not going to beleive this...add it up)........

    .........$ 1050.00 + shipping.

I will defer revelation of the recipeint of this fun project to the person whose going to pay for it.

This is too good of gear to waste in the Engineering department at work.
I'm very happy for the person acquiring this unit.

Its all done and taking up space on my work bench right now.

Only the video is keeping it from a higher Windows Experience Score. (Which only does to 7.9)

haha that's the EXACT case I had in my AMD build. That thing is AWESOME for the price. It's a smaller mid-size, but it's really great. I could fit my 6970 in that. :)

Price must have gone up...it was $30 just a few months ago.
