Thinking of getting new mobo then a bulldozer later

So i seem to be handicapped recently after purchasing my 2 570's from Biker. So ive been looking into getting a new mobo which has true dual x16 pci-e 2.0 slots. Then from what im reading the new bulldozers will be supported by the AM3+ boards. SO that way in a few months i can grab a new bulldozer which will up my performance hopefully.

I figure if im still not happy, I thought about getting a different mobo myself, one with true 2 16x slots, but I read that it really isnt that much of an improvement, of course that depends on what site you go to get more info. Let me know what mobo your looking at.

Well the only difference between king and me is our processor and I get almost double his FPS. His board defaults to x8 x8 for Sli where mine is x16 x8

so yeah the bulldozers look like crap, congrats amd. so looking like im leaning towards an i5 2500k. too bad most mobos are rated horrible for the 1155 socket. i know theyre not all bad reviews and theres bound to be some bad ones that get shipped, but almost all the mobos between 150-250 bucks all had 1 or 2 egg reviews between 10-20%. thats way too high seriously where the hell is quality control.

I love this thing. It does have issues with certain types of RAM, so make sure you get Sandy Bridge compatible RAM. My RAM isn't *technically* one of the supported types for Sandy Bridge (Corsair XMS3 1600) but I got it to work perfectly. Just make sure you don't use the preset overclocks in the UEFI BIOS. If you wanna overclock, just do it manually. I had problems booting using the preset overclock due to the OC it puts on the RAM as well as the CPU.

Also, due to the thermal armor it has on it, buy a 50mm fan to go with it. There's a slot above the NB that opens up where you can screw the fan in. Make sure it's blowing downwards, and everything stays icy cool. The thermal sensors (this board has TONS more than normal mobos) are reading my CPU at 25C right now.

It wouldn't hurt to take a look at the Sub $200 Z68 Mobos out there. Biostar and AsRock both make some really nice ones, and you'll get the SSD caching feature, which will let you get a cheap 20GB SSD and use it for a cache on a decent sized 1 TB drive and whatnot, getting about 80% of SSD performance with mechanical capacity.

i really like the all black look. and once again the negative 1-2 egg reviews scare me. 25% 1 or 2 eggs a little iffy but ill go this route once i find someone to buy my current stuff. i have it up on craigslist and someone is supposed to come check it out at the end of next week so im keeping my fingers crossed.

I would avoid Bulldozer and AMD for the forseeable future. I do not like hearing that they are cooking the books and taking a scorched earth approach to benchmarks.

If you get an i7, you're good for a while. Plus you have those GTX 570s in SLI.. You'll be set.

Could always try my mobo I've just got: Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z

Everywhere I looked people were singing its praises for 1155 socket and best partner to the 2500k or 2600k.

yeah im def gonna avoid the bulldozers. and sorry drez but i cant afford that board at all. same thing goes for the i7. i cant really afford to pay the extra 100 above the i5. i would love the i7 tho.
