    Radeon 6750 vs BF3?

6750 is 1GB DDR5, at 128 bit with 720 stream processors Think it can handle BF3 on standard settings? I dont care for ultra high settings just wanna be able to do standard and have it be playable. If i upgrade from this i'll need to get a new power supply and all that jazz so i would rather not. Should i be good to go?

Yeah, with a decent quad-core cpu you should be alright. What resolution do you play at?

What kind of power supply do you have? If you have a little extra wattage, you can try overclocking your GPU.

I see you getting at least medium settings, most likely you can easily get high.

    Re: Radeon 6750 vs BF3?

Well I have the 6870, and on MAX settings in the alpha I got anywhere from 30-100fps...so you should be fine at mid to low settings with a good quad-core like Ramen said. That Athlon Dual-Core just ain't gonna cut it. Heck, your graphics card will probably be bottlenecked by your CPU lol. If you wanna stay AMD, go with one of the Phenom II x4 Quad-Cores...probably 955 and higher. The 955 Black Edition right now is $120. Also just FYI, the newer AMD Quad-Cores (975 BE and 980 BE) are better than AMD's 6-core CPU's just because they're newer. Here's a link so you can see what amounts to what in terms of AMD/Intel CPU's for gaming.

Yeah but you're going to need to get a GOOD quadcore. My 955 Black Edition maxes out with BC2 on max settings which makes it hard to run FRAPS. Even then, maxing out on BC2 means it's going to be a bottleneck for BF3. Hence why I'm planning on getting a new mobo and an i5-2500k after I buy a car.

    Re: Radeon 6750 vs BF3?

I agree with everyone above, your cpu is shit. :c While my gpu is shit. So I'm a newbie, and I'm here just seeking advice. I have a i7 920 @ 4 Ghz and a 5770 oc-ed to 950 and 1410 (core and memory respectively) and I run BF3 on Ultra on 1680 x 1050 at around 30-60 fps :D I'm satisfied with that, it is very much playable :) , but unrelated to that fact, I'm going to buy a new gpu, I was just wondering if u have any advice as to what should I buy? I will be playing at 1680 x 1050 which is my native resolution (22" monitor), so plz help, just don't over do it. I've heard a lot of people bull-shitting me, like "...you need a 560 Ti just to run bf3, blablabla... Not to mention playing it on your res on ultra blablabla... While I proved them wrong. So again, any advice is very much appreciated :)

My friend has an ATI Radeon 6700 series (Doesn't say which one) and I play beta on high. perfectly fine, never any visual cutting or anything, any visual issues are known bugs. All he has is a duo core and 4 gigs of ram.

Well, you're actually only playing on High settings. DICE disabled Ultra for the beta. Even though you can select Ultra, the real settings are only High. I just bought a 6970 and on stock clocks I haven't dropped below 45fps on high settings in the beta.

I'm playing at 1440 x 900. I'm planning on overclocking this card heavily, just like I did with my 6870. Had that thing at 970 core/1175 mem on stock volts, and stock clocks were 900 core/1050 mem. After I OC'd it I had a ~10-15fps gain from stock clocks. And yes, I love my 6970 :D I'm running an average of 13 fps higher than my 6870, and I plan on crossfiring this 6970 before the game releases.

The 470 will probably work just fine (I'm taking a guess on this, haven't seen the benches in a while), but that and the 480 run HOT. You can get a GTX 560 for around the same price and it will actually run a tad better, and they don't have the massive heat issues.

As for my fps, when I said never drop below 45, I don't mean it hangs around there. I've had it drop to 45 once on the first part of Operation Metro. Down in the subway, I'm always running at 60-100fps. Now on Caspian Border (got into one of the locked EA servers when they were up) with my 6870 overclocked, I would have regular dips down to 25fps and sometimes lower, with my average fps at ~35. I can't imagine how hard on GPU's that will be on Ultra.

    Re: Radeon 6750 vs BF3?

I wouldn't think much higher, besides, I think they purposely put caspian to see more or less how it ran on average PC's and clip it there, cause Metro runs smooth as silk on the PC I play it on, maybe they closed it cause they realized the map isn't optimized and metro is their most optimized? Idk trying to give a reason why they would make such a cruddy map like metro the ONLY THING we can touch in beta.
