It is a nice unit! Have you looked at the Corsair H100?

The H100 is more impressive than the previous generation ones for sure. The price makes you cringe, but that's the premium for it being light and no risk to motherboard damage when transporting. at high voltages it outdoes the NH-D14 on high fans, which are loud, but you can fix that by getting some brilliant fans by Delta and use a fan controller. The NH-D14 has gone down in price since it released, however, and it's still the premiere cooler before going full on watercooling. If you move your PC around, like the look of a self-contained unit, or want to pay a large premium for slightly better delta temperatures for thoughtless coolers, it's a good buy. Otherwise, go with something like the Silver Arrow or the NH-D14

Why does nobody ever mention the Scythe Mine 2? It's basically an NH-D14 or Silver Arrow but missing a fan. Get two more fans for a 3-way push/pull setup, and you have a competitively priced heat sink that will outperform both the Noctua and Silver Arrow.

Lack of love for Scythe aside, I've read that the H80 and H100 are brilliant coolers.

Re: Corsair H80 Self-Contained Liquid CPU Cooler Review

Probably because as far as coolers go, it's a gamble to get some since not all are sent to reviewers freely, and the teams most hear of are ones trying to beat the NH-D14, so not all good ones are heard of. I'll have to check out that, because those other coolers are just damn expensive!
