Yep I remember you talking about them, but I still like the way BC2 runs with my new system, smooth as a silk, so no reason to wait for the 8 core when I needed the new system now. And besides, If I do need to upgrade down the road, the only thing I would need would be a new motherboard and processor, if Battlefield 3 runs just as good with what I have now, which I dont think will be a problem, then I dont care about the 8 core. :icon_happy: (for now anyways)

No software out there will utilize an 8 core cpu so no reason to rush out and purchase one. :P I mean.. yet.

Thats the reason I stuck with the AMD 965 B.E Quad Core, BC2 runs great with this processor now, and Battlefield 3 will be just fine also...and I wonder what the price on the 8 core will be.....HIGH $$$$$ I think.

no it will be kinda low compared to the 6core intel but higher than the 6 core amd, which will get phased out with in 2 quarters from the launch of the bulldozer cpus.

2 of the new bulldozer cpu's are 6 cores so no phasing out 6 cores they already have

But T3 is absolutely correct:
No software out there will utilize an 8 core cpu so no reason to rush out and purchase one

Sorry, as much as I respect AMD.....and I have 2 in my garage.....Intel consistantly gives me better overall reliable, consistent, stable, top-notch, performance.

I will not entertain AMD rants.....why? ......because AMD makes very good CPU's.
And there was a time they were superior to Intel, and I owned one.

But that time has past.....it isn't now.

Strictly from a horsepower perspective....Intel is better for now.

My $0.02

the bulldozers are going to be 4,6,8 core cpus to fill the area but they are hoping this will leap them right next too intel right now if not just put them 1 step behind rather than 2-3 like they have been.

i'm planning to build a 8-core machine when they come out.
is it bad that my list is sitting at $2339 and i have yet to add the mobo and cpu?
