    Re: Down to 5 components....

I am hoping you will get that Friday.
I think you'll be very pleased indeed.

As to OS....Home Premium is fine for most folks.

However, if you are wanting to log into your companies "Domain Server" or its "Terminal Server" then get the "Professional" version.
Yes, Home Premium has RDT. But for our company network, Windows Server 2003 and up, and accessing SQL Server datasets, you will need Professional.

Perhaps some of the other propeller heads can correct me if I'm wrong.

You will definitely need to install 64 bit version for your 8 mb's of ram, and get the home version of win 7, I've got it and it's fine. No problems so far, everything runs smooth and fast.

as biker dog said home premium is what i say you get for businesses they get professional or enterprise edition because there are more active directory integrations in the operating system. i have professional because my school gives each IT student a free copy

The CAS latency on the G. Skill is 8, the lower, the better. Corsair is a well respected brand, better than most. The price of the G. Skill went back up though, so if you were looking for a bargain, the ship has sailed on that one...lol.
