Too many options, I like to keep it simple. Looks cool though.

    Re: Anyone using this mouse?

Yes, only mine is the R.A.T. 7 (only difference is the 9 is cordless). Retail 80.00 bucks. Fully adjustable to fit most hands, real time DPI adjustment, jump in tank...three clicks and cannon turret orbits really fast ...same with MG's (anything mounted) .... If you jump out of tank to kill scumbag high DPI will have you over correcting big time, so you have to click down way fast to normal (the way I programmed it anyway, I suppose you could have one or two presets instead) ..... helli's gunner turret circles way fast but is sensitive and hard to pinpoint moving targets with high DPI, takes getting used to. Programmable buttons up the azew. Adjustments work well although the heal could extend more for large hands. Small flanges protrude out from under the thumb and pinkies to prevent drag on the mouse pad, feels weird at first, but now, never notice it. Very low profile so you have to learn to flatten out your palm some to feel the thing (if you want to feel it, that is). Comes with weights but to me it was too heavy without them (you could knock someone out with this thing). I'm now totally used to it and think it has improved my game and I still only use about half the features. Software is good enough, some say not enough, intuitive and is cheap & easy, like the girls I like to date.

Let me know if you have questions or a particular concern (other than the price).

I have a G7 wireless and I love it.. but it's time for something new. Your mouse is wired and optical.. I need wireless and laser. I'm spoiled. ;)

Looks like it would do the same and cost less, just won't configure to to a variety of hands, but people can get used to anything. Before the rat I used a 2.00 mouse and could probably get by with one now.

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

I have the RAT 9 and my only beef is the battery goes down in a day.....fortunately, they give you 2 and one charges right in front of you.

The only other negative is the mouse is very line-of-sight sensitive, so make sure the sensor/battery charger, is right on your desktop.

    Re: Anyone using this mouse?

Unless wireless is your requirement, nothing is more simple and comfortable than a Logitech G500 in my opinion. Razer's Deathadder and Mamba aren't far behind, but I don't hugely care for their scroll wheel, lack of weight customization, and scratchable shiny surface. I've used the RAT 7 before, and it is a very nice mouse, preventing pinky drag and has a lot of features to distract from the crowd. My only real problem is that it felt too plasticy for its price then, which I'm sure has dropped from the initial $99.99 tag. I'd listen to bikerdawg, as I've never used the 9, but if solid interference is present, you might want to take that into consideration.

    Re: Anyone using this mouse?

I got my rat 9 tonight.. Fry's price matched walmart online which had it for $129, so I was able to get it right away instead of waiting for shipping. :)

Like any other mouse, it's going to take some getting used to. Especially since I've used the Logitech G7 for the last several years (I bought two in a row). So it'll take some getting used to, but it is highly configurable that's for sure!

You'll like it, a little heavy and low profile but you get used to it.
