Hi all!
So summer is coming soon, ill be have lots of free time on my hand, i have lots of money to waste, so i decided (i actually decided this around Xmas) to make myself my own PC. Right now, i play on a family PC, so lots of junk gets put on it.

The problem is, i have very little knowledge is PC building. So ill be needing your help.

First of all, could someone link me to a good tutorial or guide on how to make a good gaming PC? i'll then post my ideas of what hardware ill buy, and maybe you guys could tell me which idea is the best, or bring some modifications to my ideas.

Thanks!

What is your budget?

It always helps to know your budget, if you have a large budget, Intel + Nvidia, If you have a lower budget, AMD.
My recommendations for other components are: Corsair PSU/RAM, Western Digital or Hitachi Harddrive, and Asus Mobo, If you find a good deal, MSI and Gigabyte mobos arent bad either.

Yeah it always depends on the budget. I agree mostly with ME i like asus but watch out for some of the mobos and i also like patriot RAM but that is me.

you can do an intel nvidia build but it will kinda be on the lower side the amd build you will be able to build up a little better.

Buy a i7 and mate it with a ATi card. You will never regret it and it will last a longggggggggggg time.

google+youtube equals tons of help building. Watch youtube videos, then if u dont understand something google it. You can find pretty much everything. Also its all pretty much based on what ur individual preferences are for parts. I think u would be best served by building an intel system (even though im an amd fan). Their cpus are on the higher end and u do video recording and editing so they would be better.

I would also suggest u go with Windows 7 64 bit OS. That way u can dump a ton of ram into it. In ur case i could actually see a reason for 8 gigs. I would go with 2-4gig sticks. that way you can upgrade in the future.

What ever u choose make sure you research it and always read reviews. However you will have to pick stuff that has bad reviews. Ever product on newegg/tigerdirect has 1star/egg ratings. Its just part of the stuff u need to deal with in pc components.

Also u need to know ur budget (which i seen u posted- what is that american?) and what u want to run video wise. make sure its all compatible with ur mobo. check the site of the mobo u buy to match cpu's, memory, gpu's and make sure that ur PSU will be big enough to run it (but 98% of people dont need more than 800w).

Well an i7 build i would recommend either
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115071
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115070 they are only quad cores but they are the better quads and wont completely break your bank

Kingloser is correct make sure that you check if replacing case that you check to make sure that it will allow proper airflow and expansion slots, and the ram is completely correct make sure that it is something with a decent cas latency and timing nothing to high around 7-9 cas latency is sufficent. PSU are kinda a touch and go you can go with module but you need to make sure that they are connected secure and check them regularly to make sure they dont wiggle loss and arc. The mobos i would make sure that you can get atleast 2xpci-e x16 slots that will go x16x16 so both cards if going sli or crossfire you will be able to make sure you have proper power and bandwidth for GPUs.

well cobra you are in the same situation as bobzwik than for budget but if you dont do video recording or editing than an amd system will do good for you. so if you do that let us know exactly what you do and we will try and help budget build a system for you.
