for that case the bottom of the case has holes therefore they can point it down and get air from below the case. it is also not on carpet. if you computer will be placed on top of carpet mount the fan facing upwards, if the case doesn't have holes face the fan upwards. all the fan does is suck air in and blow it out the back.

Sometimes measuring the bottleneck can be interpreted in so many ways. The only Thing ATI can render better then Nvidia is BSoD.

what if the floor is carpet, and my PC is elevated 8 inch from the floor, on a wooden platform?

That should be fine AS LONG AS There are holes in the bottom of your case and its elevated atleast 1 inch off the platform.. So the PSU has room to take in air.

    lol

    I have a 1000W powering my GTX 460.. lol
And it was powering a 8500GT before I got the 460..LOL
    Talk about Overkill..

I think that the mobo will freeze the boot up and alert you that a drive has failed..
You CAN still use the PC when a drive fails (but if one more fails [which is seldom] then you are screwed)
untill you order a new one
Also, make sure you have a power bar with surge protection..
I've seen many PSUs and HDDs die due to lack of Surge Protection.. I have a $200 Power Bar on my Rig (Yea..Its overkill..)..
7.2K RPM shouldn't go out too often with good surge protection

okay, now i have to set up RAID. i have started my PC up yet, i want to setup RAID before anything else.

so when i get to the RAID configuration menu, i have to enter a name for the volume, the RAID level (5 in my case), a strip size and a Capacity.
What are the two last ones? I have no idea what they mean and what to put.

    I have 3 500Gb HDDs.

also, how do i install the operating system?

for strip size i think i go with 64kb but i think there is an 128 bit as well option and for capacity you want to use the entire drive

    MY COMPUTER IS COMPLETE!!!!!

RAID is setup, windows and drivers installed. I still have to connect it to the internet to get the latest updates, but i am enjoying it so far. I wont be able to play until I get my PC to its new location, moved the old one somewhere else.

Theres also a big difference in the fan noise (my new one is much noisier). But who cares!
