I was running GPU-Z when gaming to check on temps and my system would freeze up, so must be some kind of conflict running both at same time. Since I have not run GPU-Z while playing BC2 I have not had any issues. So remember, It may not always be the card as in my case, just in case you have any issues with the new card, it may be something else involved.
Very true, good point Booyaa!
Here are the specs on the 550 vs. my 460 SE, to me the choice was obvious just looking at these numbers;
EVGA GTX 550TI 2GB
Core Clock: 900 MHz
Memory Clock: 4008 MHz
Shader Clock: 1800 MHz
Memory Bandwidth: 96.19GB/sec.
Memory Interface: 192-bit
EVGA GTX 460 SE 1GB
Stream Processors: 288
Core Clock: 650 MHz
Memory Clock: 3400 MHz
Shader Clock: 1300 MHz
Memory Bandwidth: 108.8GB/sec.
Memory Interface: 256-bit
I currently have my GPU OC'd to 750mhz core 3600mhz memclock and 1500mhz shader using the EVGA precision tool, after playing BFBC2 for a few hours my temps only at 49C so I can't complain. The only bonus it seems for the 550ti is the extra gb of gddr5 and a slightly higher clock speed, but at the same time there are less streaming processors and the memory is slower so it may need the extra core mhz to make up for that. T has the same card and gets about 60fps on BFBC2 if I'm remembering correctly. I spent almost a month comparing dif GPU's in my price range ( under 200 ) and decided to get the 460 but I also got mine for $99 from tigerdirect.com. Here's the links I used for those numbers if you'd like to check it out for yourself:
