About CTF

Hey guys,
well yesterday I finaly bought HL2DM and I finaly played CTF (I had a free version of HL2DM which didn't have he required mod to play CTF). Sadly I arrived to late to play against everyone, but T3, brownman and dflynn was there. Thank you T3 for explaining me the basics, but I still have a few more questions:

1- What days and times (with time zone) does everybody come to play on TKC CTF?

2- On tkc.hlstatsx.com CTF, my stats weren't there, but i know that I killed people. Do I like have to kill a number of people for my stats to work or do you only get points during certain times.

3- Yesterday, after everybody left, I stayed and someone else (a newbie) came to the server. I started explaining some stuff, but I was typing something long and I went into spectate. Why?

4- I heard that you can drop guns, health and armor. How?

5- I heard that in CTF you can do wall jumps and with a gun do higher jumps. Is that true and how?

6- Can the other team see the laser of the sniper?

7- Can you kill your teammates (because yesterday I accidentaly shot T3 and I saw blood splatering)?

I can't answer all of the questions, but I can answer most of them.

1- What days and times (with time zone) does everybody come to play on TKC CTF?

Every wednesday night at 6pm pacific, 8 pm central, and 9 pm eastern. I'm not 100% sure about the times on every other sunday, because I think they change somewhat. yesterday's started at 5 pm eastern and 4 pm central. Hopefully T3 will post here and tell us the times on sunday CTF.

2- On tkc.hlstatsx.com CTF, my stats weren't there, but i know that I killed people. Do I like have to kill a number of people for my stats to work or do you only get points during certain times.

I'm not sure about this one, because my stats showed up right after my first game with the stats on. It should log your stats when you log into the server. I saw there were quite a few "unnamed" players on hlstats. Are you sure you set your name in CTF?

On CTF, if you don't move for a certain amount of time, it automatically puts you into spectate.

I don't have the keys memorized, but you can go to the keyboard options in CTF and it will tell you what they are and you can customize them.

5- I heard that in CTF you can do wall jumps and with a gun do higher jumps. Is that true and how?

I've never heard of wall jumping unless it's a glitch or exploit or something, but with jumping higher, just make sure you have a lot of suit and shoot an smg grenade right under yourself then jump right when you shoot it. It will damage you a lot, but it will let you jump a little higher.

6- Can the other team see the laser of the sniper?

Yes they can. My advice is if you see a laser dot anywhere near you, run around and bunny hop like a freaking madman. The combine sniper kills in one hit unless you have a lot of suit.

7- Can you kill your teammates (because yesterday I accidentaly shot T3 and I saw blood splatering)?

No you can't (At least not in the TKC CTF server). Just like in the TKC Boom Boom Rooms, you can shoot your teammate and blood will shoot of them, but it doesn't damage them because friendly fire is off.

I think you can only do that in CTF Pro

Ok, I just read a post from T3 and the CTF time will be moved back an hour on wednesday, bobzwik. So that's 5pm pacific, 7pm central and 8pm eastern.

We are actually changing the time for Weds to 5PM PT, 6PM MT, 7PM CT, 8PM ET and 1AM BT starting THIS Saturday.

Not sure but you probably do have to have a certain amount of kills. If you don't show up after next time let me know.

That is on "promode" setting and we are the only server that runs "hl2dm" setting. We decided to do that long, long ago when we came to realize that the guys who play HL2CTF almost exclusively were running everyone off because they were so good at wall jumping, rocket jumps, it just wasn't good for server activity. If you really want to learn how to do that stuff you can go to any of the other servers.

We just canceled Sunday because football season is starting up and we had a couple of bad turn outs. I'm sure we'll get it going again after NFL season.
