Some bad news and some good news

So today I tried to log into my steam account. It said I had the wrong password, I tried multiple times, tried to reset via email, tried to reset with the secret question steam asks you to answer. All wrong. So... I guess my account has been hacked. That doesn't really matter because I only had 2 games. So... I tell one of my close friends (here comes the good news) and he said "well I have an account but I don't
play pc games anymore". He let me have his account and the games that came with it. So now I have tf2 and css. :D. So if I sent you a friend request now you know why. :)

If you open a Steam support ticket and be nice about it they'll have it back within 48 hours. That way you keep all of your friends on your list too.

Even if you have only two games in your account you don't have to leave it to them 'cause all the hackers will think that they have right to do what ever they want and they'll gonna win , you got to make them understand that they are wrong by senting a ticket to steam an explain them what happen to you , you'll have to prove that the account is really yours . That 's the way you got to do the things :icon_evil:

Never Click on any links people send you, or add any random people to your friends list...The was another post were if you added a player to your friends list it was a virus. Be Careful

They're account was probably hacked. That is the big hack going around in the steam community. It looks like its a friend sending you the link but its just a script that is using their account. Always try to talk to the person and some how confirm that its actually your friend. If they first thing they say to use is just some random link they send, I wouldn't trust that at all.

Yeah... This kind of virus has been used for years now on varying things such as AIM and Facebook. Anytime I get a link from somebody through a message I always ask them what it is they are sending me.

FAIL!!! That really sucks though. I was a victim of account hacking a few months ago and had some trouble getting my account back. First Steam told me they weren't going to fix it because I didn't have the box with the serial of my game from when I bought it (who need's it after you register it to your account???). So I ended up making a new account and rebuying HL2DM (only $5) and then a day later Steam gives me my account back. Just open a ticket with them and see if that gets you anywhere.
