    Demo Submitted to Steambans [Count]

So I finally got into Steambans and used Sourcebans to match demo submissions with people to see who has submitted a demo what has been accepted by Steambans. As you know we have ribbons available (for clan members) for demo submissions that get accepted by Steambans. Keep in mind that only demos of HACKERS get sent to Steambans, and only those demos that follow the rules, less than 5 minutes long (usually if its a minute over or so we MIGHT send it in if its obvious hacking), and "sb_status" being performed in console after the demo starts. In addition at least 2 clan leaders review the demos before we decide to send them in to make sure we are sending in only the highest quality demos and that they won't be rejected. So far only the very first demo we sent in was rejected and that is mainly because we were anxious to see how the system worked, not because we were 100% sure we had a hacker. In fact, I think we both knew we didn't. Because of this, we have only submitted 10 demos in all. 7 have already been processed, 3 we are still waiting on. Here is the list and who gets credit for the demos. These are in order from oldest to newest:

    Mulitnames - T3 [APPROVED]
    Joshua - Josh [APPROVED]
    Tylacy90 - Sirce [APPROVED]
    EC0012 - T3 [APPROVED]
    4-hard - T3 [APPROVED]
    Mr.Arnold[bevis]GodFather - dflynn [APPROVED]

Those awaiting final judgement from Steambans:

    Hay Gaize - dflynn [PENDING]
    NECRO - DonJuan [PENDING]
    Ecks - T3 [PENDING]

Now some have submitted demos and for whatever reason we did not submit them to Steambans, so if you think you should have more, then you probably didn't get your demo past the clan leaders scrutiny.

Remember that ANY clan member or server admin can record a demo and submit it. Here are the instructions straight out of the TKC Admin Handbook:

Hacking If you suspect someone of hacking don't say anything just go in to spectate, in order to do this just type spectate in console. Do NOT announce that you are going into spectate as this only warns the possible hacker that you are suspicious. We have a plugin installed that suppresses the message that someone has moved into spectate so until they check the scoreboard, they won't even know you are spectating them. Once in spectate click the mouse button to go to the person you suspect, now with the spacebar, select the view that looks like your playing as them.

Then in console type "record (their name)"
      then type "sb_status".
sb_status must be typed in order for us to do anything about this person. sb_status is a steambans requirement and without that cmd being issued in a demo, steambans will not accept the demo as proof of hacking. Please do not forget sb_status.

After you think you have enough video to back up your hacking claim go into console type stop. Please make the demos no longer than 4 minutes, but be careful not to make the demo too short. Steambans will reject demo's that are too short. If you want to take more then go ahead and take a second demo and label it (their name_2). You must zip or rar the file using your favorite compression tool such as WinZip or WinRAR. Be sure to name your zip or rar file appropriately with the players name. Now exit game, go to sourcebans (http://tkc.clanservers.com/sourcebans/) and go to submit a ban tab. Fill out all the info, then where it says upload demo press browse and the demo is in C:\Program Files \Steam\steamapps\Yourusername\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp or if you are on 64-bit OS check C:\Program Files(x86) \Steam\steamapps\Yourusername\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp and it will be underneath the folders with the name of the person you recorded and in the file format of .zip or .rar then click and upload and submit ban. When time permits a clan leader will review it and, if needed, send to steambans.

To get the first ribbon you have to of successfully submitted 5 demos that Steambans approved. Next, 10. And finally, 25 for the 3rd and final ribbon.

    Good Luck!

I usually don't Ban... I usually just kick them off.... plus, I probably wouldn't know most hacks if they hit me in the head (and they probably do too!!)!! :icon_arrow: Sorry I missed that course in school... Hackers 101! :icon_unhappy: PJ's

This guy was using an aimbot that was obvious. While I was spectating him, you could see him ounce between multiple people on the opposite team, as fast as if you were clicking through people in spectate (did that make sense? I'm kind of tired). Usually it's pretty obvious if they aren't good at it. If they are, I'd doubt you'd be able to tell.
