How do you guys feel about going back to one of our older games? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered comes out shortly after Battlefield 1 and they have already announced dedicated servers. Of course that isn't the same thing as announcing we'll have the controls we are used to, but I think it's a fair assumption. I loved that game, it was only AFTER that game that the franchise began to suck. If we can't control our own server, can't set it up the way we want, then I don't really see how we can build a community like that. If COD 4 remastered provides us those tools, I for one will seriously consider going to that game.

Of course the problem is, you can't buy it separately and have to buy that trash Infinite Warfare. LOL.

I'm hoping EA/Dice doesn't listen to the few idiots that think it's a good Idea to do that. I think from a marketing perspective they would shoot themselves in the foot at least for the PC side. Although I think most game makers are moving toward catering to console players because of the ME generation getting older and coming into more disposable income. And it seems that the ME generation prefers playing games on Console vs PC. On top of that, add in Sony and Microsoft vying for exclusive release rights on their systems.

I really don't see EA/Dice cutting the cord on dedicated servers just yet though. Considering all of the licensing fees that server providers have to pay them, plus the % that EA gets from each slot rented, it's a virtual cash cow for them with very little expense out of pocket. Although with them getting rid of battlelog, I imagine they have or would need to develop an alternative to the way blaze sends/pulls and tracks player data for stats. Or just come up with another system altogether which may influence the price of rented servers.

There is going to be dedicated servers, but rumor is you will purchase them like you do on consoles, thru the game itself. You won't be able to choose your game server providere and it's a guess as to how much control you'll have because part of the rumor is, rcon's will be eliminated meaning no procon, no plugins. Now I have seen a video where it shows a BF1 menu where you can kick and ban, via in-game menu, but who knows if that is accurate.

i will probably be buying the new cod. the new zombie mode looks fun.

The more I read.. the more I think BF1 will not have server controls like we're used to. I think private servers are a thing of the past. This might be the final nail in the coffin for me as far as the Battlefield franchise goes.

You can't build a clan back up playing games that are 10 years old. I loved BFBC2 and especially Vietnam, but we need new games to build the clan back up.

unfortunately there is no definitive answer yet, however its seems we will not have the control we hope.

It's looking like Battlefield 1 is dead on arrival for PC gamers. Guys, we'll have more about this later on, but it looks like TKC is done with triple A multi-player games from EA and Activision as they are both giving the finger to PC gaming. I think more than likely we're going to be looking at smaller developers who build their games with PC in mind FIRST and provide the types of controls we expect.

I'm not telling you not to buy Battlefield 1 but right now it does not look like the clan is going to have anything to do with Battlefield games going forward.

I didn't find the bf1 beta that much fun so I wasn't planning on getting it and since the clan won't support it anyways that pretty much seals the deal for me. Sadly I have no games to look forward to at all in the near future.
