Satellite internet sucks

So I went ahead and ran a speed test for this new satellite internet I got out here in the boonies (reminder, I still have cable at my old residence until end of this coming week, 22nd).
Ping...~600ms
Yeah, I won't be gaming on this crap anytime soon after the 22nd when my cable internet is shut off, and the laptop I'm using right now doesn't have enough balls to play solitaire lag free. Thinking I might have to go to cellular internet. I mean, I'm paying $70-80/mth for this as it is and was only paying $100 for two cell phones. I might go and recheck my options.

I'm thinking I should have just gone cellular, it would actually be cheaper considering I can probably get 2 cells and a hotspot for just a bit more.

I've always had interest in building a house in a North western rural part of Georgia, its quite nice there. But looking into it, ill make sure not to be Dfire and look where fiber optic is available. Cause its widely known satellite internet sucks.

The "real" boonies will never have fiber, too much distance in between houses.

I'm not so sure.. I thought we always used sat internet. Wondered why it always took so quick when it is supposed to take long. I assume there must be some intercontinential cable or something??

Well if Afghanistan can have fiber, the boonies should be able to have fiber.

If the "boonies" were a decently large trailer park or subdivision, then yes, but these are the real boonies, the household density per square mile is like 6.
Oh, and I'll probably be staying with the satellite, just realized my wife and I already have used up over 8GB out of our monthly 12GB in about 12 days, thankfully on this inet, it's priority data, not a cap. It will get slower, later on this month, but it won't matter, I technically have unlimited.

Boonies = Wyoming.
I have bonded DSL, an there is fiber just down the way.
