    Some Bad News

So this is a very sad story, going to let everyone know up front. My brother-in-law and his wife just had their first baby (it's a boy) on Monday. First off the baby was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around it's neck. The doctors didn't know how long the baby had been that way, thus they took him away as soon as he was born to begin examining him for any issues. The parents didn't get to hold their baby until 2 days after he was born (for all the parents out there, you know how heartcrushing this would be). Meanwhile, the mother had a mental breakdown. She thought that her baby had died. Even more so, after they brought her the newborn and let her hold him, she believed the hospital was trying to trick her, that the baby they let her hold wasn't her's and that her baby was dead. She's convinced herself that it is all her fault and she also is refusing to listen to anyone and believes the hospital is trying to poison her (with her daily meds) and, if your wondering, the mother has never had any prior psychological issues. As if this wasn't crushing enough for the family, they found out today that the boy had a cerebral infarction (from what I read its basically a stroke caused by disrupted blood vessels in the brain) which has already affected the mechanical movement of the left side of his body. The doctor's are still running tests to try and figure out if it will be permanent damage and if they can expect any more problems to arise.

I know that some of this may seem very personal to the family but I just want to let everyone know the immense hardship they stand to face. I would ask that everyone talk to whoever they may believe the higher power to be and ask that the family be watched over and have guidance and peace while they wonder down the darkened road that lie's ahead of them.

    Regards
    Ryan

Don't want to say too much so I'll just say that I wish them well. Hopefully all will end well.

I'm so sorry to hear your news. Sounds like their road ahead will be a bumpy one, it saddens my heart. I have always been VERY grateful that my 4 kids have been healthy, and have turned out to be GOOD KIDS. I DO know how lucky I am. Never the less... I am a FIRM BELIEVER, that Our Lord tests those who he loves the most. Not only is this a test for them....it also can be a test FOR YOU. Offer your help, understanding, patients and love, this is the time of THEIR need. Things happen for a reason......and there is a reason for everything. Give them your support and keep your heart STRONG. My prayers are with them and you. PJ's

Thanks a lot guys. PJ's thanks for the guidance. My wife is with them now, I'd be there but, unfortunately, the military doesn't work like that. They know we're here for them and that both of us are going to give them as much support as we can. The way I see it, a few more whispers in God's ear will help them pull through this. Right now we're trying to help them keep the faith strong and to push forward through what is ahead. I've got my 10 month old son, who is going through Chicken Pox right now, but is as healthy as a horse. I thank god for it everyday and pray that His good will may carry on with our expected daughter. I'll keep posting with any news we get and hope for the best.

    Re: Some Bad News

Is really terrible when this things happen, everything is fine and then suddenly the whole world turns upside down in a blink of an eye, i really hope this is just bad moment and memory for them and that everything will be fine later on, lets hope for the best, i will keep them in my prayers. I wish them strength and patience at this moment and to never surrender to whatever God has planned for them in the future, either good or bad, but never stop having faith for the best.

    Regards,

    Rudy.

Once again, thanks for all the sentiments from everyone and everybody's support. I just talked to my wife and she said that her brother's spirit is lifting a little bit from day to day. I think he's beginning to let his faith guide him and help put him at ease.

hey i'm very sorry to hear that. it's totaly sad when that kind of stuff happens and I kind of understand what the mother must be feeling. You see, my brother died at child birth, and i'm born with a sigrom kistic (i'm not sure how to write it) on my cheek. But my mum must understand it all, the pain and sadness. I"m going to pray for the little baby and the family and send my best wishes to them.
