as you guys may or may not know, i am co-leader of a clan, FS. i want to ask permission from the clan leaders of TKC if we could "borrow" your idea. it definitely won't be on wednesday nights at 9 because i will still be playing with you guys. i think that this is an amazing idea as it gives all of us clan leaders time to see who we want to be in our clan. so please answer, can we use it?

You can use the server. We have our get togethers every Weds and every other Sunday afternoon. Of course if for some reason we need the server you'll have to reschedule but that wouldn't happen very often if at all.

I wasn't nescesarily asking to use the server, I was asking if our clan could use the idea, lol. Personally i don't do the server work, but we have pike 5 servers which is too much so we could just switch one hl2 server for a ctf server. The hard part is all of the configuration, so I guess if it's okay with you guys we'll use the TKC server until our clan gets it all sorted out, thanks

Sure you can use the idea.. I think what is more important is getting more people playing CTF so that there are more options of when to play. Right now we can pretty much just play when we have it scheduled cause not enough players out there so feel free.

i would love to play capture the flag, but, (if your talking about the beta game,) it won't let me download it, and i don't know how you get permision to try it out. (if your talking about HL2 Deathmatch CTF maps,) then i would love a tkc capture the flag server.

Here are direction:
1. Download the mod
http://www.cashworks.org/files/hl2ctf/h ... 1_full.exe2. Shut down Steam (Very important)
3. Double-click the hl2ctf_full.exe installer you downloaded.
4. Verify the location of your SourceMods folder.
5. Click Install and overwrite all files.
6. Run Steam
*Note* You MUST have the full version of Half-Life 2 for this game to work. The free HL2 install will not run the CTF mod.

k so i have the installer downloaded, i've shut down steam, i double clicked the file, i've verified the location of the source mods folder, but the problem is that the folder doesn't have anything in it, and when i try to used the folder (i've tried to save it both to my desktop and my source mods folder) it says
The archive is either in unknown format or damaged
Cannot open ... hl2ctf171_full.exe
what did i do wrong?

Which Operating System do you have. If you have 32bit vista,xp or 7 then you need to select the proper directory. The CTF installed defaults the directory for 32bit versions.
For 64bit:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods
For 32bit:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods
(Right Click your 'My Computer' icon to view if you have 64 or 32 bit if you don't know which version you have)

That message normally means your dealing with a zipped folder. On the website you can download a ctf.zip folder or a ctf.exe Make sure you download the 'exe' file. Then all you do is double click the exe and follow the setup wizard.
