Well i'm all grown up now so I don't really get a summer vacation. I did however just get back from a short stay at a lake house not too far from Dallas. It was a log cabin right on the lake and they had a second cabin that was the 'play house'. It had a pool table, a full sized shuffle board (the kind that is like a long, long table and you slide the discs down) dart board, foosball table, arcade sized pacman, 60" tv. It was fun but with all the kids there, our kids and my sisters kids, it was probably more work than anything. Nice to just get out of the house for a couple of days.

I'm all grown up too but I do get a summer vacation and two weeks at Christmas. :icon_twisted:

Usually we take a big summer trip but not this year since it's our son's first summer with us and we had other plans.

In the past summers we've spent a month in Macua/China/Hong Kong, a couple of weeks between Washington and Wisconsin, and taken road trips to Colorado, Arkansas, Phoenix->Las Vegas->Grand Canyon. This year all of our trips have been in-state - Sea World, Great Wolf Lodge/Dallas to meet out-of-state family for wedding and hanging out. Then in August we're going to Hattiesburg, MS to visit some friends - that's our biggest trip I guess. We take a LOT of weekend trips throughout the summer and the rest of the year.

I've got a cottage (family cottage) up in haliburton, about 2/3 hours north or toronto (depends traffic and how fast your driving :icon_cool: ). Anyway, yeah, its mostly family gatherings, or just quiet time, sometimes business if we are going to rent it out for a week. A lot of good times: tubbing, drinking, all kinds of games (horseshoes and about every card game), and going into town for open street markets.

I just finished up my first of two two week vacations for the summer. I lounged about for the most part and went to Boston for 3 days. Was a great time. In my next 2 week vacation in August/September I am hoping to go camping. I have been in the mood to fish lately.

Vacation
What is that?
Guess i need to get a life lol!!!

I actually miss getting time off from work to take a vacation, something i looked forward to the whole time i was in the work force. I actually enjoyed the work i did and part of the time was kind of living a vacation as am a photographer (as well as sales and management) and i had the good fortune to travel over much of the U S and some of Canada with expenses paid.
Now i am retired and still look forward to some travel but not the same as the excitement of getting away from work and spending time with the family or before the family whatever my desire was.

Hey all of you enjoy your vacations

As you all know, it's not long ago since i got back from Cancun and the Riviera Maya (approx. 1 month ago) i highly recommended to everyone, a lot of foreign tourists, people from Europe, Canada, Spain, England and the US, very clean city and a lots of places to visit like natural rivers where you are allow to swim, ecological theme parks (swim with dolphins), a lot water caves, archaeological places, bars, clubs, and of course the beaches are one of the bests, it was a great time, and not that far away.

Next trip we're planning to go to the state of "Chiapas" in Mexico, there's a lot of tourism, tours across the jungle, water falls, natural rivers, old towns you can visit , very adventurous trip.

Then we might take a cruise to the Bahamas departing from Miami FL, my wife has went there already she says it's really worth it and wants another one.

After that we'll like to go to Europe like Spain, France, Italy and Germany.

PJ you're collection sounds neat. I think it's cool to have a hobby collecting things.
