Probably won't see me in the servers for a while

My mom hates violent video games and she basically got sick of me playing HL2 DM and snapped and told me I can't play any violent video games. She goes through phases like this every now and then; it's happened before. Just wanted to give you a heads up so don't expect to see me in the servers for at least a month. I'll still be active in the forums though.

Oh boy..

Well it happens. It's not the violence that is the problem, it's the warped minds of loons that can't differentiate from games and real life so then go out and shoot up their school. You have a problem with knowing the difference?

Human life is precious, if you knew that when you started playing the game then my thought is, you won't forget it after playing the game. My thoughts only however.

I know exactly what you mean T3. My mom is afraid that if i play these games too much that i'll go kill somebody or something. the problem is, she never grew up playing these games so she doesn't know what they're like. and yeah i definitely respect human life, this is just a game. If anything, playing these games will make me more willing to pull a trigger in real life if i ever had to protect myself or someone

As long as you're on the forums you're part of what's going on so it's all good.

Maybe you can convince her to let you play capture the flag since the point is to get a flag not kill. After all tonight IS CTF night.

I hope she does not keep you off too long.
Maybe you could tell her that some of us are parents and that our kids and grandkids both play the servers on tkc, also that we do our best to keep the servers we have clean and respectful.
I`m speaking about my family that plays on the servers and i know of a couple of others who have their children playing here also and for certain we do our best to have a good wholesome place to play. I hope this helps a bit.

Well sirce it's not that she's afraid that the servers aren't clean, it's just she hates any game with killing or blood. So that rules out CTF too. ugh it just annoys me that she's like this, but she's my mom and I need to listen to her. This will hopefully blow over in a few weeks.

If only she knew what else was involved.. like clans who are about manner, good sportsmanship, friends.. she's just getting one part of a large picture, and the part she is getting probably only really effects a very small percentage of people. But like you said, she's your mom and you can't ignore her wishes, only hope she forgets about it after a time.

Hey Star... Sorry to hear of your situation with your Mom.. but... I THINK VERY HIGHLY OF YOU that you are honoring your Mom's wishes. I know it's sometimes rough living with parents (I'm one too!) but as long as you are under their roof, you kinda have to follow their rules and try not to make WAVES!!!! I'm in your corner when it comes to having fun and playing the games, but sounds like you have to keep it "COOL" for a while. Don't worry bra shes probably like you said just going through a phase. Hope fully she will let you back soon you should show here some stuff on internet that talks about the postive effects of video games. Man this sucks though who am I gonna hang out with durning the day now. Well hopefully she changes her mind soon.
