on the 22nd of July Anders Behring Breivik killed almost 100 people. Many of these teenagers on a camp.
Today he got declared mentally ill and will most likely enjoy the rest of his life in a mental hospital.
This is just ridicolus. I mean you can kill almost 100 people in cold blood and get sent to a hospital?!? Also some experts said that he'll most likely be out 30 years or so. In America that is less than what you get for killing one person.
And the worst thing of all is that our "prisons" or in this case mental hospital actually gives the patients/prisoners a cozy little apartment to live in. Its almost like he gets to live a normal life except the fact that he's being guarded.

hey bro, dont be embarrassed because of your nationality.. every country has a screwed up legal system and even more screwed up ways of dealing with criminals... i live in the US and i see people go to prison for years for possessing a small amount of methamphetamine, and people get probation and released out of jail for molesting children, now thats SCREWED UP!

@Valentine: I know, but things like this show that Norway is a safe haven for terrorists. We already have one that is living free in Oslo. They have proof about him learning up suicide bombers for Al-Qaeda, but they won't deliver him to Iraq because they might sentence him to death.

i kinda can feel bananas pain here i am 50% norwegian and it is kinda wrong about how some thing are over there, but that is life and society. Someone that might be from another country might have a reason not be a part of that nationality.

Since it now is clear that he will go to a psych ward it actually is a possibility that he might get released within the next 10 years. Ofcourse they will monitor him, but if this happens he will be a free man again.
They've said that once they dont look at the patients as a danger for society they will get released, and what will happen then is that the police will defend and monitor his activity, but he'll be able to live freely.

The insanity plea here is actually hard to prove now because so many people used it to walk, you have to pass so many things its not even funny.

As dragon stated, it's MUCH harder to prove insanity in the US than it is in Norway.

although it is very easy in the US to be found not mentally capable to be sentenced to "big boy" prison, I see it all the time at work murderers and child molesters being sentenced to a prison that has a dedicated psych wing, or even more ridiculous the State Hospital.

Here in Canada it's very easy buys, you just need a good doc.
