This bill must not pass.

There's a new bill being proposed in the US, Bill S.978, which would make it illegal under certain circumstances to share videos of copyrighted materials over the internet. The problem is that it appears to also make it illegal to upload videos of games, such as let’s plays and speed runs.

You can read the Bill here : http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtex ... l=s112-978

Here’s a video talking about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ib7-vSrp6y8
There is a link in the description for a form to voice out your opinion.

We make up our government. They are our friends, family, and neighbors. We also decide who makes up a good portion of our government. Which begs the question: What does that say about us?
In my experience, the best way to at least have somewhat of an effect on this sort of thing is to show your support in anyway you can. The easiest way is signing and sharing a petition that someone will show to congress in hopes they will adjust the bill or not allow it to pass at all.
http://www.change.org/petitions/stop-th ... bill-s-978 Such as this one.

Our country is run by corporations anyways. They have most of the power it seems. Oil companies are the biggest. If you think about it, they control more of our country probably more than any other company. When gas prices skyrocket, you now limit what you do because of them.

We could protest the supreme court deciding to let corporations be treated as people (other than when it comes to accountability)
http://movetoamend.org/ is working against that very ruling.
It's been my opinion for the past few years that if you don't like candidates don't vote. Encourage people not to vote and stand up against all who run with the intention of running things "business as usual".
I do also agree with you somewhat. It is difficult to see the sky through the trees, especially when you're buried in debt caused by social inequities and regressive tax rates. In 2007 the bottom 20% of families (the people making the least money) paid 17% of their annual income toward taxes. The top 1% didn't even pay 3% of their annual income toward taxes. The top 20% (the people making the most money) which includes the top 1% obviously didn't even pay a third of the percentage that the bottom 20% pays.
