    Going to wedding FAIL

    This happened to me Saturday.

On Friday afternoon, my family and I drove to Montreal (about a 2 hour drive) to go to a wedding of a relative on Saturday. We stayed the night at my mom's uncle's place. So the next day, before going to the wedding, everyone on the bride's side goes to her place, where we chat and eat. Then we follow the bride and her father in their Rolls-Royce (nothing happens to the car). The thing is, the church is a half an hour drive on the highway/going through different parts of the city, and it was quite hard following the cortège. We were 7 in the car, my parents, my sister, a friend and his son, a kid and me.

If you have been to the nice province of Quebec, you'll know how we love to keep our roads full of bumps, cracks and potholes. Anyways, still on the highway, but near the church, we hit a huge pothole. Then for the next few minutes, people go past us making strange movements with their hands and pointing to the back of our car. My dad says we should stop and see what's wrong, but my mom says we can't because we don't know where the church is. So we continue, we get into another part of town. It's then we hear a horrible noise coming from the back of the car. My dad pulls over on a side-street, we get out and see that we have a flat. So we're all dressed up nicely, we're going to have to bring out the spare, and it starts pouring rain as hard as ever. So my dad, me, my dad's friend and his son stay out to replace the tire, while the rest take shelter in nearby shop. We had one umbrella. We got soaked in our best suits. after 10 minutes, we got it replaced. Right after he finish, it stops raining. :icon_droopy: Someone from the cortège had seen us and came back. She took the mom, my sister and the kid to the wedding, and gave us the key to my mom's uncle's house. So we went back there, looking forwards to get into dry clothes. We get there, we unlocked the door, but there's a second door, locked. And we didn't have the key for it. So we're pretty much wet and depressed, and we decide to go to Canadian Tire to see if they can do anything for us. We get there and we are put on a one hour waiting list. We try to dry our clothes, by standing in the rarely appearing sun, or by using the blow drying in the bathroom. When it's finally our turn, the guy says that he can't fix the wheel (the rip is on the side) and he doesn't have the same size tires. He says he could sell us 2 tires, but we decline because, first of all, we can't replace a brand new tire in perfect condition (we just got the car 5 days ago), and secondly we will probably be able to get a free tire (or relatively cheep on) at our dealer's.

We then go back to back to my mom's uncle's place, where the people are back and getting ready for the reception. We then find out that they do not own a clothes dryer, so we dry our suits and shirts with a hair dryer.

We had a nice time at the reception afterwards. Lots of meat.

The day after, today, we arrange that my father and I will go back to our town in the tow-truck (that's going to tow our car) while my mom and sister takes the bus.

In the end, we're back at home.

    Good times.

Don't you love adventures like that? not while there happening of coarse, but you will remember it and be recounting it later in life and have some good laughs.

That seriously sounds like the plot to a movie. Maybe your misfortune could turn to fortune if you sell the idea!! ;)
