I didn't know this until just now: you can COMBINE the 6000 series cards to crossfire with any two 6000 series cards. They don't have to be identical, unlike NVIDIA's do. Saw this:

While you can mix any two different cards.... Why? If you're looking for a small boost in performance or a large one, why not just resell the card and purchase the higher end one? or get a slightly higher end one? It does make a huge amount of sense in convenience, but there's not a whole lot of times where someone looked at their graphics card and thought, "MAN! I wish any cards were compatible, because I don't have enough money to put out on the same card!" Of course, it's not likely a ton of graphics card consumers are looking for used products on eBay. This is a pretty cool feature, but I don't see it being a heavy weight on the nVidia v. AMD scale.

Brownman, Nvidia is better it is a fact.
AMD has good gaming cards, and their price is very reasonable. Im not complaining about that, if all you want are gaming cards, fine, go with AMD, but Nvidia is the BEST. Ive done A LOT of research on it. Because Nvidia has:
1. Better Drivers (AMD has gotten better at their drivers, but Nvidia still has killer drivers)
2. Nvidia Cuda (Programmers buy cards just for this, not even for gaming..)
3. Nvidia Physx (which helps tesslation A LOT)
But remember, this clan doesn't only have gammers, we have people that do graphics designing, autoCAD, etc for a living. You canNOT even compare Nvidia to AMD when it comes to photoshop, after effects, premiere pro, maya, 3Ds Max, Maxon studio, etc.. When it comes to games, thats fine... But remember, Pengwin is like me, we both so graphic designs and video editing. I even get paid for doing photoshoping. Ill agree the 590 was a bit of a disappointment, but the 580s are still nice if you have the money. Fact is that Nvidia has better cards period. Im not comparing prices because obviously AMD would win, but if you want a good rig, you have to work for it.

Peng, this means nothing on the scale..lol...

Thanks Crim for post, Ill agree that it is a pretty cool idea but the I still have doubts both cards are "maxed out".

I'm not going to say that you're not right about what you said but not all of it (it's 50/50 ). :)

Well...AMD's been beating NVIDIA for a bit with gaming, so I wouldn't go so far as to say they're the absolute best. Yes, I agree they beat AMD with their CUDA and better tesselation, but AMD's better in some ways as well. They both have their pros and cons. I've also heard mixed stories about their drivers, I have friends (irl and on internet) that have issues with the NVIDIA drivers and had SO many issues they sold their cards and bought AMD's, and vice versa.

So that 's why i said it's 50/50. :)
