Wow...you're a bit behind. I upgraded in December.

How can you get to record in that res without it hitting down your fps? I have the same prosessor clocked at the same speed, 4GB Corsair value ram and a Nvidia 560 Ti @ 970/1175 MHz. And the only way I can record, is by checking for the half size button in fraps and even then it drags my fps alot down. I I set it to full res (1680 x 1050), I get around 15 fps. Whithout fraps, the game never gets under 60 fps at max settings including AA and AF. Im I using wrong fraps or something? (And btw, my CPU touches the 50C mark, but goes never over that, and my GFX goes never over 55C.)

for some reason, AMD graphics cards (according to benchmarks I've read) work better in BC2 than NVIDIA. no clue why. anyway, I run it at a lower res than you (1440 x 900) and in Vsync (constant 60fps) and it even stays there when recording. I'm sure if I turned Vsync off I would see a hit to my fps, but nothing that affects gameplay in the least bit. I also record at 60fps. lol. Oh yeah I also have a better cooler than the stock one you're using, gaming it never goes above 35C. it goes above that mark only when stress testing.

Yeah I couldn't play recording at full res with 3.2.7. With the 3.2.8 update they greatly reduced CPU load, and made it MUCH better.

lot of games run better off a single gpu than in crossfire/sli.

doesnt really matter though cause all the new games that are coming out are crappy console ports.
so cards that are 5 years old will still play the latest games.

Yeah, I know. 730W should only be able to Crossfire or SLI a setup of cards such as the GTX 460 or the 6870, not the high power 6970. You'll need about 1000W. You will also run into heating issues with a $40 case without really nice fen placement/quantity, things are gonna get toasty! And 4GB of ram is not super high end by any means, which will need a tiny bit of an upgrade to match the rest of the setup that needed upgrading due to the oven you installed into your case.
Saying that nothing is wrong now doesn't mean you wouldn't run into issues if you install a 6990. I didn't ask for your computer specs.

Stick a sock in your mouth. What does the price of a case have to do with anything. Typically the price of a case is driven by the quality of the materials, not how well it maintains ambient temperatures. For example, my $30 case with two extra 80mm fans at $2.50 a piece provides more than sufficient airflow for even the hotter cards. Honestly, more than anything else it has to do with how cramped your components are, not so much on fan placement/quantity.
Your not going to get bottlenecked by RAM with a GPU. Have you ever even looked at how bridge architecture is laid out? They don't even talk. The only thing that will actually bottleneck the GPU itself is the CPU or an inadequate North Bridge (which comes with having an outdated CPU/Mobo). Secondly, what does the amount of RAM have to do with a "high-end" rig??? High-end is a term to refer to performance, not quantity. Educate yourself before sticking your foot in your mouth and trying to be a dick next time.

And I never said that ram bottlenecked the GPU, I just suggested with such a high power video card, he might want some extra ram if he plans to do more ram intensive applications in the future, they don't perform hand in hand, but general categorized components are usually in packs.
On the case, to my recollection, he's in college, and most likely has a roommate. I wouldn't want a case with a bunch of added loud fans going on while I study for my music theory test, would I? You get what you pay for, and paying a bit more gets a quieter, cooler case.
And I just said a few numbers that relate to one another if he were to get one of these cards, which, by his comedic "I WANT ONE " doesn't seem like he immediately meant to get one on release, just like many peoples reactions to the ASUS ARES card from a long while ago.
And I'm the dick? Not doing anything but correct that I knew about his new PC, and throwing in a bit of amateur, angry suggestions that would efficiently go with the card? While YOU, my friend, told me to shove two random common objects in my mouth, then hitting me with some jargon I didn't mention. Remember, as in about 3 of your previous posts, you should remember that I am a KID, which is really starting to show your maturity. If I were you, I'd think "What am I doing?
